Let me start off by saying this place has potential, but I’m going to be honest with our experience. My husband and I just moved to Lauderdale by the sea temporarily. We decided to go to Harat’s on our first day. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great! No issues there. We started out with the ceviche. It tasted okay but the portion was enough for a toddler. Also, they didn’t serve crackers or chips with the ceviche, which was disappointing. We ate it in four bites. For entrees, I ordered the crispy salmon and my husband ordered the burger. The burger was okay, but the fries were fabulous! However, the salmon dish was the worst thing I’ve ever had. I was previously a waitress, so I didn’t want to bother our server and tell her that my food was inedible. First, the salmon was anything but crispy. I slid the soggy skin off to hopefully redeem the taste, but it did little good. The salmon was mushy and flavorless. Don’t get me wrong, I love a rare salmon, but it was way undercooked in a weird way and the texture was off. Only 1/4 of it was good to eat. Covering it in lemon did not salvage it. I should have asked the server for the chef to cook it longer, but it was tasteless either way. The description mentioned cream of the sea. I might be off on what that was supposed to be, but instead of a cream sauce, there was mushed avocado next to the salmon with the consistency of baby food. At that point, I thought I could manage to eat the vegetables. Nope. Worse than the salmon. The vegetables consisted of raw beets and another unknown raw veggie in angel hair form. Now, I like raw vegetables, but this was awful. Beautiful presentation, awful taste. It was like putting beet flavored hair in my mouth. My husband gave me the stink eye as I was trying to fill my belly with his fries. We eventually left so I could go to Publix to eat food, as I was still hungry for not eating barely any of my meal. Now, maybe the other food options are better, I’m not sure. However, after working in the restaurant industry for over 5 years, I can say that dishes like the salmon need to be improved, because nobody in there right mind would order it a second time. I hope this restaurant is successful, as I can see potential with their location...
Read moreCame here with my dogs. Was going to sit at the bar by the door where there was a seat. The hostess told me I couldn’t sit there. I asked why and she’s telling my that’s a work area would I prefer to sit elsewhere I said no I wanna sit at the bar which I’ve done many many previous times before. She continued to engage eventhough I didn’t want to. Said I was talking to her “strong” and I explained that’s how I speak and asked her not to tell me how to speak. If you don’t want people to sit there there shouldn’t be a seat there. She continued to argue with me when I tried to just end the convo. The bartender working kicked me out so I left. Came back to get my phone which I forgot and the bartender wouldn’t give it back until I said please. Which is crazy keeping someone’s property and refusing to return it unless they said please. I told her do I need to call the police because if she’s withholding my property it is stealing. She didn’t seem to understand that. She than threw my phone glass down on the bar. I understand licking me out if you think I’m arguing with a coworker. I don’t understand withholding my property unless I say please to get it back. That’s not acceptable and a it is a crime. Second thing if they don’t want patron sitting in a specific area they should have seats in that area. Been here many times before sat at the same spot many times before and it was never an issue until today. Disappointed in my treatment and will now never return which I’m sure they could care less. Hope the manager or owner see this and reach out to have a discussion about the bartender withholding my property. HOLDING SOMEONES PHONE AND REFUSING TO RETURN IT TO THEM UNLESS THEY SAY PLEASE IS NOT RIGHT AND SHE NEEDS SOMEONE TO SPEAK TO HER ABOUT THAT. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR AND THAT BARTENDER SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF. (Wether you like the person or not you don’t refuse to return...
Read moreWhere do i start! I am absolutely amazed with this place and so was my whole family when we went together last night. We had other favorite spots until we discovered this gem. First of all the greeting from the hostess was our first impression of the place, they are all so friendly, so helpful, so informative, and go out of their way to accommodate. My biggest thing as a previous bartender is how they make my margaritas and my husband's old fashion, if they get it wrong, we just don't go back to that bar. Our first bartender Mike made the absolute best margaritas and old fashions, we were so excited about the freshness of the lime juice, agave instead of simple syrup and the muddling of the cherries and oranges for my husband's old fashions, we could smell all of the smells of the drink making, he is so talented! When we ordered food off of the happy hour menu, we sure were in for a treat. Those fresh oysters with that delicious garlic vinegar dressing on the side was such a treat. The wings are INSANE, best in town and we go hunting for wings all of the time. The flatbread with truffle and parmesan is absolutely delish! the oysters rockefeller were one of the best apps i have ever had. Even the ceaser salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. One absolute must is the pub sliders with the most tender and flavorful brisket ever and the buns are very warm and soft. The service at the tables is just as amazing with Ashlin as our waitress last night. She didn't skip a beat, we were never wanting or needing anything because she was right there every time. Even the manager helped me out when i was waiting for the restroom, led me to another one that was empty without me asking and that my friends is top notch service in every way. We love this place and it is our new favorite spot, so please don't change anything, it is...
