Can be good place to have a drink and people watch and that's it. Four of us went to celebrate a friends birthday and to try the restaurant out for the first time. Service was good, the waitress was pleasant and had a nice personality. As for the food, if I can do less than 1 star I would have. The Clams Oreganata were horrible and literally the size of a nickel...really! Even the waitress commented how tiny they were. I didn't send it back which I should have, but I didn't want to spoil our fun of celebrating with complaints. The Clams were VERY tiny and very expensive for 6 nickel sized clams for $12. The smart thing a chef could have done was to serve at least 12 to make up for the joke of looking lost on the plate. The food that followed was even worse. The veal parmigiana and marsala, was tough and very chewy on all of ours, the meatballs were just plain tasteless. One had chicken piccata and that was not good either. All of our food and the two appetizers were extremely salty. I think that was the worst part of the whole meal, and that was a comment made by all four of us. The place was pretty empty when we went which was around 6:30-7 ish. The drinks were ok and the music was nice, but we were all starved and looking forward to a good tasty meal...NOT here! When I made the point about the Clams being so very tiny to the waitress, the right thing for her to have done besides agree with me how small they were, would have been to tell the owner or manager. She didn't do that or if she did no one came over. Also, it would have been nice to have had some bread or garlic rolls, especially with an Italian meal, a comment by two of my friends. Other than drawing in the tourist trade, I think they're going to wake up too late with all this negative comments from the local residents like us, and correct their issues or lose customers. It would be a shame as we live down the street and...
Read moreIf I could give you zero stars I would!! Tonight, at approximately 10:00pm, I visited your location with my mother who is deathly allergic to gluten. We sit at the bar to order drinks, my mother orders a rum runner and I get a measly White Claw. We tell the bartender our order and as he goes to make the drinks my mother forgets to tell him to use Bacardi Rum, being that this Rum is gluten free. When the bartender comes back my mother lets him know that she cannot drink that one. Of course he is frustrated with the fact that she didn’t initially let him know. He expressed his frustration for about a minute and I could not believe the way he handled himself in a place of business nevertheless speaking to anyone in that manor. He then makes my mother a new drink and comes back, still frustrated telling her she should’ve told him to use Bacardi. My mother is a sweet/forgetful 60 year old women and he did not have any right speaking to her the way that he did. When he came back I let him know that he shouldn’t be speaking to his customers that way and of course I will not accept him speaking to my mother in that manner. He then states “you can have these drink and I will close your tabs out”! So I responded saying “matter of fact you can actually take these back”. He then takes them back and throws the drink towards the trash and misses, so the glass shattered, alerting a ton of attention towards us. He then throws my mother debit card at her and I’m not even sure what else he said. I then proceeded to find a manager. When I find the manager(Eric) he apologized and offered us more drinks. Respectfully declined that offer. Needless to say I will never spend a dollar Not will I ever refer anyone here. So anyone reading this just go across the street to Mulligans or any other place in that respect. HOPE THIS...
Read moreVinnie's by the sea, Italian Restaurant next to the beach on Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. You have to come here not only for the food, but the ambiance, the live music ( single performer), the whole customer experience, WOW. Full disclosure i am not a pasta lover, nor a bread lover. But I'll try all types of foods, and this experience was off the charts, amazing. I regret not taking pictures of the property which i normally do, apologies. You can sit outside/ inside walking from the street right in. Medium size restaurant, excellent decor, staff match shirts. Come with friends/ family/ yourself either way you'll enjoy it. Sat at the bar, staff was pleasant, friendly, approachable eventho it was super busy. Started with an app that it was so good that i had a 2nd serving, octopus carpaccio a masterpiece of arugula, evoo (extra virgin olive oil), red onions, lemon, the octopus was thinly sliced very delicately, and accompanied with droplettes of aioli ( olive oil, garlic, and a taste of salt). For the main course there were options that i wish i can taste all of them. Well, i selected the linguine pescatore (pasta a bit larger than spaghetti and seafood) in white sauce, what a treat. It had clams, shrimp, mussels, calamari, and to make it awesome ordered the brick oven flat bread baked to order (the oven is right in the restaurant visible to all) topped with evoo, you can not eat just one. I had no room for dessert, bummer. There are lots of options here, including whole wheat/ gluten free pasta. Protein and non-protein eaters have plenty of options. I'll...
