Update I went back! I tried the ribs and chicken 2 plate. I ordered hush puppies and sweet potato fries with it. Got a deink as well. Their lemonade is popular but I just prefer coke products. Went around 6 pm on a Saturday. Probably not the best time for a to go order because it was so busy! Everyone was clearly enjoying their food. Just not sure there was enough employees- all were working hard but it took over 20 minutes for my order to be ready- and I didn't open it until I got home so I didn't realize until too late that they had missed my hush puppies. 😕 Very disappointing but I don't blame them. It was super busy and they had a lot to handle. The ribs hardly had any meat on them (I ordered them once before and they were very good so I dont know what happened here), but the boneless chicken definitely made up for it! Juicy and flavorful. The fries were good as well. While not my best experience, it was still decent. If I go again, I will just have to go when its not busy- and either stay or check my food. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
.. Went in around 3 and it was pretty empty since it was between meals. Plenty of employees there so no one was stressing out. Big menu board was handy but I would have been more confused about the offerings had I not looked this place up online beforehand. I had heard good things and wanted to check it out. They serve soft drinks and lemonade. I got their spicy sauasage and it's definitrly spicy. Hush puppies were bigger balls than expected and pretty good. They didn't make the drive home. Mac and cheese is pretty basic but mixed with the pork and sauce. Soda was not flat so that was a plus. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food wasnt what I would call amazing but it was a good experience and I really want to try their ribs. My family likes it and I will return...

The value just isn't there.
The smoked meat is good. It isn't great (though I do think it varies by location; I am pretty sure the quality here was worse than the South Jordan location). The ribs are a bit too firm. The smoked sausage is boring compared to most smoke houses. It has consistency closer to hot dog than sausage. Their pulled pork is probably their best meat. All the meat has a nice smoked flavor, but it is somewhat dry and just boring. I have been to some great smoke houses in Texas, and this doesn’t even hold a candle.
Their sauces are ridiculously watered down and run off the meat.
Most of their sides fall short. They are small servings and lack interesting flavor. The mac and cheese is super watery instead of a nice creamy cheese that you would expect. It is like noodles with yellow water. The baked beans are good, but not better than the average place. The hush puppies were stale and terrible last night - they should be dropping these in to cook when you order so that they come out fresh and hot. Mine had apparently sat for hours.
But here is the bottom line, I paid nearly $20 for a two-meat plate and a drink. The portions were tiny for $20. You get two rib bones for your rib order. The value just isn't there. So far, the pork nachos are the only thing that you come in a large portion for a good price – but you are going to a smokehouse for meat, and you only get a few small pieces on the nachos.
If the food was amazing, it would be worth the splurge, but it is only slightly better than other smoke houses that are a much better price. I think I am done with...
Read moreI have a love/annoyance relationship with any new restaurant that has a menu so good that I can't decide what to get (but the annoyance is just another version of love.) Luckily, the line was to the door so we had some time to decide. The reason for the line? This is some seriously good BBQ.
We ordered the 3 Meat Plate so we could try a few different things (pulled pork, brisket, and ribs), and two "foundation" sides—fries and onion rings. We also got one of their two desserts (chocolate bread pudding w/ vanilla ice cream.) The pork and the brisket were both no-sauce-needed delicious, but since they had four different sauces on each table there was no way I wasn't going to try them all. (My favorites: the Sweet and the Less Sweet, More Heat. I traded off using both.) I'm a little touchy about ribs, though—I haven't found a really good rib since I left Chicago, and I'd pretty much given up on ordering them. But at the recommendation of the friends we went with we ordered some, and they were probably the best ribs I've had in Utah. The fries were above par, but the onion rings . . . they were beautiful. Maybe the best I've had in the state. Next time I go, I'll be getting those again, probably on the side of a pulled pork sandwich (because they offer a coleslaw topper, like any solid BBQ place should.) The chocolate bread pudding was good. Just good. You can't have everything.
This is easily one of the better eateries in Utah County, seemingly with something for everyone, unless meat makes you not happy. Me, I'm...
