Last night, 01/17/24, I ordered dinner for my family of 4 from the BJ’s Brewhouse in Lewisville, TX. I ordered online at about 4:30 with a pickup time of 5:45 because I was going to swing by the restaurant on my way home from work.
We ordered the $65 Slow-Roasted Tri-Tip Bundle from the “Meal Deals To-Go” section of the menu: 30oz of Double Tri-Tip, 2 Family-sized Side Orders (steamed broccoli & baked potatoes topped with butter, green onions and sour cream.), and a family-sized House Salad with Blue Cheese dressing.
Overall, it was a good experience but there were a few frustrations:
At 5:00 I left my office, which is at least 35-40 minutes across town, and at 5:08 I received a text message from BJ’s that there was “Good News!” and my order was already ready to be picked up. I texted back that my scheduled pickup time wasn’t until 5:45 and that the food would be cold before I arrived, but there wasn’t a reply. (I realize that it’s probably an automated text that is unmonitored for replies.)
I arrived at the restaurant at 5:40 and went to the To-Go desk, and sure enough my order was ready and waiting to be picked up. I mentioned to the server that I knew that it had been sitting there since 5:08 and that I had scheduled pickup for 5:45. He didn’t seem to have a response to my question about why bother having the option to schedule a pickup time if the restaurant was just going to make the food whenever and let it sit out for so long.
However, I checked the food and it all seemed to be packaged and prepared correctly and, though not freshly hot as expected, it was at least still warm. The salad was packaged separately from the hot (warm) food, which was nice as it kept it crisp.
Once home, we unpackaged everything and I will say that I was rather impressed by the amount of food that was in this bundle. The steak was done a decent medium-rare to medium cook – one downside being that there’s no cooking preference option when ordering online, so you can’t really order rare or well-done if that’s what you prefer – and it was very flavorful. The salad was large and plentiful, and the steamed broccoli still had a nice crunch. There was also a large container of extra BBQ sauce and another large container with the blue cheese dressing.
The only disappointing part of the food itself was that the baked potatoes were not quite cooked enough and they didn’t come with any of the advertised toppings, and also the broccoli was very cold. But, once we microwaved the potato and broccoli for about a minute, that took care of both issues and we had some of our own toppings for the potatoes.
Everyone agreed that the food was very good and, at $16.25/person for the 4 of us, it was a very good deal for the money. We even had leftovers for lunch today.
I would definitely go back to BJ’s for the Tri-Tip meals to-go deal, or even try one of their other meals to-go options. It would be nice though if the restaurant could have a better handle on when to prepare an order to match up with the scheduled time of pickup so that the food was...

She didn’t we wish us and when we show our IDs she took them to the office and came out after 15mins (if she had any issues how did she accept our IDs in the past) and even after coming back she didn’t even give our IDs back she brought some water for us which we didn’t ask for, she knows better that we want to order drinks and why did she bring waters? She told us I will give your IDs after serving the drinks then we told we need our IDs right now then she brought her manager and created all the drama.
The manager don’t even have any knowledge of anything he’s unaware of his server’s behavior. Instead of asking politely what happened he just came and attacked on us saying “no server wants to serve you” (just because we didn’t tip the server better)
Why did she even take our IDs into the office? Our IDs are state issued DLs from California and all of us are 22+ age and why do you have problem if it’s out of state? and how did you accept our IDs in the past if they are out of state?? Just because we didn’t tip her better last time she created all this.
03/20/25 we didn’t bring our IDs so we left that day and on 05/16/25 we came again and different server served us we had good experience that day. I remember the dates because we come here for our special occasions.
I highly recommend the management to check the cameras for the dates 04/20/25 and 06/01/25 for the times that I mentioned above and we want to know how our behavior was wrong. I also recommend to closely observe the server’s behavior.
The big chain of restaurants like BJ’s don’t deserve the servers like these… We are deeply disappointed, and we are not going...

The restaurant was not especially crowded more that usual when we visit for an early Saturday drink and meal with the kids. On this occasion, my food arrived with a contaminant cooked with the broccoli. I told the server who advised the manager who eventually came to the table. I didn't get the feeling that the manager cared that his workers or cooks were or are sloppy in food preparation leaving plastic contamination in the food served to customers.
Update: Aug 2019: (5) stars: This visit was much better than the last four star visit and the server was on point doing her job and checking on us like she was supposed to in a restaurant setting. The food came out accurate and hot the first time. This was a great visit.
I received a gift card to this restaurant location and decided to bring my spouse to see if it was a nice restaurant to add to my list of regular visits. We were seated upon our arrival in a small booth without delay by the hostess. The server eventually came over and took our drink and food order at one time. There was a couple of issues that occurred with our drink order that it came to the table not as we ordered. We placed our order for one lemon thyme chicken and beef steak special. My spouse really enjoyed her meal as it appeared and in taste. My mail included the salad, the entree, and the dessert. I noted that the salad did not have any brown leaves when it was delivered and was visually pleasing. I know it when did dessert arrived The ice cream wasn't melted the dessert was hot and it was extremely tasty. My spouse and I both really enjoyed the dessert. We had a bit of an issue trying to locate our server to get the check. We had a follow up issue with a to-go box for our food. both of us check the restrooms while we were there and found that they were clean and...
