Long story incoming. My Dad and I decided to eat here today at around 3 for a quick early dinner. We frequently go out to eat at restaurants for a quick bite from time to time. Unfortunately, when ordering drive-thru, your order is, most of the time, a hit-or-miss scenario where you sometimes don't have all of your order or missing sauces, etc. It has become a ritual at this point (which is sad really, but I digress) that every single time we go somewhere, I have to go through the entire bag(s) of contents to see if we have everything. There's times some fast food restaurants have messed up pretty bad, forgetting a decent amount of items here or there, but this time, it has to be without a doubt the absolute worst I have ever seen.
Look, it took me a second to go through the menu and decide what I wanted. Seemed the employee on the speaker was trying to give me a hard time. Unfortunate. Ordered a mix and match beef n cheddar and Greek gyro, a large brisket meal, and 2 beef and cheddars. Came out to $23.93. I was handed the drink, and the entire area around the cup plus the top was dribbled a bit in soda. No big deal, I suppose. They must've been in a rush or something. We then got the bag, and it was put down between the console of the two seats in the vehicle.
We pulled away down the street onto the highway as I was grabbing a couple napkins to clean up the cup so I wouldn't have soda all over my hands and the cup holder. After we got back onto the highway towards home I finally was able to look into the bag and start eating my food on the ride home. Boy, we were in for a surprise. They were nice enough to give us a handful of napkins, a whopping two sheets of coupons plus a paper stating they're hiring or something, but uh. The only thing that was in the bag was the Greek Gyro and a single Beef n Cheddar, and some sauces. That's it. It was too late to go back, there would've been no real way to prove that we were missing food at that point, and we were already pretty far from Altoona, so there was no turning back at this point.
So yeah, spent nearly 24 bucks only to receive like, 7 dollars worth of stuff. We had problems from other fast food restaurants in the past, but damn, that's like, nearly 20 bucks gone. It would've probably been faster lighting a 20 dollar bill on fire. The Arby's in Johnstown, we had no problems with every single time we went. This is the first time (probably last, for obvious reasons) we went to the Altoona one.
I have no idea where all these 5 star reviews are coming from. We spent $23.93 and only received like 10% of our food. The food that we DID receive, was good as usual, though. Ended up nothing but angry and still hungry in return. Gave a negative customer survey explaining basically the same thing I explained here. I rarely make reviews, but when it's really THAT bad, it deserves public recognition. Odd how better performing restaurants have lower ratings on Google Reviews than the ones that are notoriously horrendous. Not...
Read moreThe food was great on my visit, but my issue was with the cashier we had. I went with my hubby on Mother's Day and the cashier assumed I was pregnant and told me Happy Mother's Day, which is a dangerous thing, but lucky for him, I am. Anyway, after I ordered, he asked if I wanted a cookie or a turnover. I was assuming it was a promotional thing that they were giving away a free cookie or turnover to mothers on that day, because a lot of people were giving away something free with a meal purchase. He didn't say, "Would you like a cookie or a turnover added on today?" like it would be an upcharge, he simply asked, "Cookie or turnover?" I got the receipt and realized I was charged full price for the cookie. So I guess what I'm saying is beware of them trying to get you to add stuff on in non traditional ways. Besides that, the food was hot and fresh and the...
Read morethe food is great (but what Arby’s isn’t?!) however the attitude of the employees (especially at the drive through) is absolutely appalling. i’ve been to this Arby’s 3 times since i moved here, and all 3 times i was belittled for asking questions, sighed at, snapped at, and much more. i feel like an idiot for asking questions about the menu. (questions they don’t even know the answer to, may i add.) i will not be going back. they treat their customers like an annoying burden they don’t want to deal with. if you’re craving Arby’s and don’t mind the drive, i highly recommend the one in Huntingdon PA. they are much more kind and appropriately behaved to their customers. 2/5 stars only because the food is good. 0/5 stars if we are basing on...
