The hotel is beautiful. It looks just like the online picture. The front reception desk was very welcoming. Bathrooms and bathrooms were both clean and made for anyone (business or vacationers) to enjoy. It truly gave me the 1920s vibe. Ok, now let's talk about what I didn't like (areas of improvement):
Would I stay again? Yes, business ONLY, because it is near my company office for my meeting. But, as a vacationer, no. I felt like I was with my parents staying...
Read moreI gave this hotel my business, and I have done so in the past, but the management still refused to waive a no-show fee for a booking I made for the day prior to my arrival by mistake. I am busy. Transitioning jobs and just coming off of orders for the military reserves. I knew I had to be LA on the 29th but somehow thought the 29th was an earlier day in the week when I made the reservation. I also thought I was making a two night booking. My second mistake (which helped me) was that I only made a one night booking. Anyway, I showed up the day I needed to be in LA, and the front desk told me I had no booking. After searching, they told me I was scheduled to check in the day prior and had marked me as a no-show and charged me accordingly. I spoke to management and explained my situation. Management was inflexible and continued to charge me for the day prior. I want a hotel that understands business customers and people who balance multiple responsibilities. I also want a hotel that builds loyalty in its customers. The Hilton Checkers clearly does neither. I will stay with this hotel's competitors on future trips to Los Angeles. I do...
Read moreI absolutely hated the Checkers. It was just a room with a king size bed and TV on the 8th floor. The view was of an alley way of other buildings. Nothing unique or old about the place but the fireplace in the lobby. The front desk staff was snotty. So I checked in 5/17/2024 for $140 a night plus all the crazy taxes and $30 resort fee was supposed to stay until Monday 5/20/2024. Heck to the NO! Got there at 3:45 pm and was ordering a Lyft to go back to my favorite hotel by 4:06 pm. Told Mia the manager at front desk I was leaving. Have the bell boy I tipped $10 being my bags down. Mia says I was in the room an hour? Charged me the full rate and won't return my money. They lost out on May 17-May 29 or today $3,568 of my hard earned money whike working on a film in LA. Since April 22, 2024 I have spent more than $9k on hotel accommodations, not including food, alcohol, cash tips and Ubers. It was the first time I booked a Hilton. I suggest my favorite hotel Indigo downtown or I liked the Sure Stay Sunset West when I did studio work...
