Nice new-looking and clean-looking location, contemporary design, the location has a light feel to it (mostly because of the way the sunlight fully enters the interior, and also because of other architectural/design elements), good grilled chicken. Only complaint so far are their high prices. So far it’s been a pleasure coming in here. This location at Sunset and Oxford has the best layout/design of any El Pollo Loco I’ve ever been in, the others were like whatever in design and didn’t come close as far as interior design. However, not saying that the food or service at this location is better than other locations. Note that this location is not actually new, since I remember it for sure as far back as 2002, but I hadn’t gone inside until more recently, so I don’t know if they remodeled it or whether it was designed well since when it was first constructed. So here’s one of their downsides: if you order one of their new “lunchboxes” (it’s not enough food for an adult’s lunch, heck no), you’ll see that they give a ridiculously small amount of beans and rice: it’s as if they think that the value of everything else they put in the box means they can’t put more beans and rice. But everything else besides the beans and rice in the lunchbox is not a lot nor does it justify charging $6.99 for one of these “lunchboxes”. Read moreI've been a long customer of pollo loco, unfortunately they closed the one by my home so I decided to start going to this one. Out of the this location and the one on vine the one on sunset was better. Lately I've to call back because they make a mistake on my orders and usually the managers will correct the problem but this time I had problem and I had to come again and also bought some sides and when I check my chicken wasn't fully cooked so I asked if they can finish cooking it but I didn't want it burn and the cooked started back talking.I honestly feel bad that I have to write a review but I feel that if I'm paying for something I should get it right and this location has bad customer service and the food is not fully cooked and remember we are talking about chicken, not just any food, anyways I hope someone takes care of this matter and hopefully ask the employee to bite his tongue before he speaks because with attitude el pollo loco will start losing customers. Recently visited this location, and it is a nice location. Building looks beautiful and clean. However, I noticed that there is self checkout tablets which is very nice because it gets rid of bad customer service employees. The only two employees at this location servicing the customers coming in aren’t that polite. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with, “if you have cash I can take your order, and if you’re paying with card use the self serve.” What if whoever is trying to buy food isn’t able to use such device, that’s wild !!! The cook has nothing to do with the bad service, bad service comes from employees at the front serving clients. Managers please filter out bad employees and keep the good ones, just a thought.
