Good Times at Davey Wayneâs is truly one of the most unique spots in Los Angeles. From the moment you walk through the hidden garage door entrance, youâre transported into a vintage world full of character, energy, and good vibes. I came out specifically to support the local bands performing, and I have to say â the live music scene here is top-tier. The sound system, the atmosphere, and the crowd all come together to make it feel like an intimate concert experience, while still keeping the fun, laid-back bar vibe alive.
One thing I love about this venue is the mix of people. Youâll find locals, creatives, and visitors from all over, all connecting through music and good times. Itâs not just about grabbing a drink â itâs about being part of the culture. The retro dĂ©cor, great drinks, and outdoor patio make it easy to stay for hours and just enjoy the night.
As a business owner with my merch company, Saka World Wide, this place was also a great opportunity to connect with people, share ideas, and build relationships. Los Angeles thrives on collaboration, and Davey Wayneâs is the type of spot where conversations happen naturally â whether itâs about music, fashion, or business.
If youâre looking for a night out that combines incredible live music, a lively crowd, and a one-of-a-kind retro vibe, this is the place to be. Whether youâre supporting local bands like I was, meeting new people, or just looking for a memorable night in Hollywood, Good Times at Davey Wayneâs delivers every time. Highly recommend!
Walking into Good Times at Davey Wayneâs is like stepping into a time machine that lands you right in the middle of the 1970s, but with all the energy and culture of modern Los Angeles. From the moment you pass through the garage door entrance â which already sets the tone for a hidden gem experience â youâre surrounded by vintage dĂ©cor, retro furniture, warm lighting, and a soundtrack that feels like pure nostalgia. The atmosphere is unmatched, and you immediately know youâre in for a special night.
I came here to support some of the local bands performing, and the live music experience blew me away. The stage setup is intimate, allowing you to feel every beat and every lyric in a way that larger venues simply canât replicate. You can tell that the management really cares about giving upcoming artists a platform to shine while still keeping the quality of the sound and performances top-notch. The crowd is always lively and engaged, dancing, clapping, and vibing along â itâs the type of energy that reminds you why live music is so important for a cityâs culture.
What makes Davey Wayneâs truly unique is how perfectly the retro vibe and live music complement each other. The shag carpets, old-school furniture, vintage posters, and overall design create an environment where you feel like youâre partying in your coolest uncleâs house back in the day. Pair that with live bands who bring raw talent and fresh energy, and you have a setting that balances nostalgia with creativity. Itâs not just a bar or a club â itâs an experience where music and environment collide in the best way possible.
The drinks are strong and crafted with care, and the bartenders add to the fun with their upbeat personalities. The outdoor patio gives you a chance to breathe in between sets, catch up with friends, or even network if youâre like me and always building relationships for your business. Running my merch company, Saka World Wide, I found myself not only enjoying the performances but also connecting with people who appreciate art, creativity, and community. Itâs a reminder that venues like this arenât just about entertainment â theyâre hubs where culture and business can overlap naturally.
Overall, Good Times at Davey Wayneâs is a one-of-a-kind venue in Hollywood that every music lover and culture seeker needs to visit. Whether youâre here to discover new bands, vibe to live performances, soak up the retro aesthetic, or just have an unforgettable night out, this place delivers on every level. Itâs rare to find a...
Read morePlease read this review! So I had three friends visiting from out of town this weekend. Just like anyone else I wanted to show them the best time I could. Living in the city for over six years I got to see a bar or two and concluded that good times at Davey Wayne's would be an ideal venue for this event. I emailed you the reservation center asking to reserve a table, their system responded promptly, and in less than an hour, I have a table booked. When we got to the venue you guys up front but it was in without waiting line and showed us to the table, just as promised. It took it away just quite a while to make her orders, and when I told her that we already she's a list that she's a bit busy so you should wait a bit, I understand that. At some point, my friend from out of town started feeling a bit nauseous since the venue spreads a scent of incense. In a matter of minutes, she felt like she needed to throw up and went to the restroom to do so. Immediately as she started throwing up someone started pounding on her door and telling her she has to leave when she did not understand what's going on but they pulled her forcefully and pushed her outside. I want to comment on the fact that you did not drink more than one drink that night and was not acting like someone was intoxicated. As soon as we heard of the situation A bunch of us went outside to see what's going on with her, without us knowing that way just came and had someone signed the credit card bill which was over $500( not your average bill). Till this point, I do not know who signed the card. As I was trying to go back in and see where my credit card is and what's going on with our table the people add to the entrance of a club told us that we could not go back in, I tried to explain that we still have stuff inside I do not know where my credit card is and that we still have a table full of drinks that we paid for. The guy at the front gate acted very rude and told me that we are not welcome to come back. I feel like we were taking advantage of in some way, my friends who do not speak English as a mother language did not understand what's going on. I emailed reservations asking to talk to the general manager; I was told that he would get back to me within 48 hours. I'm not the type of person who goes and cancels credit card charges because he's not happy with some service, but I did not get what I paid for. Not even because that is not a way, you treat neither a premium customer nor a regular customer. Since I have not gotten a call from any manager, I'm assuming that they're not going to contact me and that is just the way they treated their customers. I guess I will need to use my methods to try and find justice to this case.
I gave them two stars because after all this is...
Read moreGreat vibes at this spot; You will absolutely feel like you walked into a college house party! Lots of people around who are sociable and willing to mingle makes it easy to make new friends here. Crowd runs slightly older than college age but for the most part, you see women 21-30 and men 21-40; Lots of open-minded, social, attractive and casual-classy people that you might not immediately associate with 'Hollywood' but more of that friendly '70s LA' vibe. The indoor bar area allows a nice environment for the classic bar or hanging out near the kitchen and chatting with some drinks. The indoor dance area is the size of a big living room and there are always people dancing! When the band stops playing and the DJ finishes out the night, the dance floor only gets bigger as some of the crowd flows onto the stage. The music is a mixture of disco (not just from the 70s) along with some classic 70s tracks. Friday nights seem to have more 70s music and that California rock sound playing whereas Saturday nights seem to have more disco/dance music playing and a lot more dancing. Either way, you will likely hear ABBA or the Eagles any night you go. The outdoor patio area is pretty large and has that same environment you'd find on a balcony or backyard at a house party. Drinks are appropriately priced; nothing to complain or brag about. Most of the bartenders are pretty nice and professional. The line to get in moves quicker than you'd think for such a popular, crowded place - which is always nice. Overall, this place is definitely worth checking out! If you've been thinking about it but haven't gone yet, I highly recommend it! The only reason I give 4/5 stars is that the couches there are usually 'reserved' yet when you call/email to find out about reserving the couches, no one gets back to you. They'd be better off losing reservations and keeping everything open seating. Some of those people who reserve the couches are also a lot less friendly than everyone else in the place, so watch...
