Savta — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant. While there were some positive aspects, I was disappointed with certain elements of our experience that I believe could be improved.

Upon arrival, I requested the hostess to seat my mom and me at a specific table. My mom, being older, needs a bit of extra space to be comfortable, and she had her heart set on that particular table. However, we were told that the table was reserved for four people. Throughout our visit, I noticed that this table remained empty even as we were seated elsewhere. Instead, we were given a very small table where it was difficult to comfortably fit two plates. Honestly, I was considering leaving because of this, but I stayed because my mom really wanted to try your wood-fired dishes.

Fortunately, the wood-fired chicken arugula salad that my mom ordered turned out to be excellent. The chicken breast was grilled to perfection, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. Unfortunately, my own dish did not meet the same standard and could have been better prepared. Additionally, I had requested no salt on the fries, but they were seasoned with rosemary or some other spice. While I appreciate the effort to add flavor, I would have preferred them plain as requested.

Overall, I do not consider this to be a bad restaurant. The food has potential, and there are clearly some standout dishes. However, I believe there is room for improvement, particularly in how the staff handles seating requests and special instructions. We came in around 7:15pm with our 2-year-old and from the moment we sat down, everyone was so attentive and kind. Josue was incredible. He made us feel so comfortable, which is not always easy when dining out with a toddler!

My husband ordered the wagyu burger and he said it easily makes his top 5 burgers of all time. I had the ragú pizza and wish I’d taken a better picture because it was absolutely fantastic, so juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.

It was such a great experience all around, and Josue’s service made it even better. We love it here and will definitely start telling our friends to come too. Thank you, Savta, for hiring amazing employees who truly make dining out feel effortless...

Made a reservation for my party of 8. The table was ready when we arrived. Had to call to make the reservation. Open Table was unable to make the reservation at the time I requested.

My wife and I split the double patty smash burger. They said they were unable to make it medium rare because the hamburger patties were smashed too thin. That was a disappointment. I also had eggplant. That was very good. The fries that came with the burger tasted very good. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals.

The venue is an outdoor patio. It's reasonably quiet as long as a police car or other emergency vehicle isn't blasting sirens on nearby 3rd Street or Fairfax Ave.
