Pinkies Nail Spa — Local services in Santa Monica

People constantly ask me where I go to get my nails done - I'm talking friends to complete strangers. I always tell them, "I go to Ryan at Pinkie's. He's the one." He really is. You try Pinkie's and you'll never want to go to another salon again. Period Pooh.

When I first moved to LA, I was on the hunt for two things - a Disney annual pass and a nail salon to call my own. I live in MDR and easily visited 11 or so nail salons ranging from Venice to Hawthorne to WeHo. What I encountered was enough to leave a girl feeling more than discouraged.

Then you, yes you my beautiful Yelp fam, led me to Pinkie's. More specifically, you led me to Ryan who forever changed the way that I view nail artistry and service. It would be impossible for me to catalog all of the amazing work that Ryan has done for me in this review, but I will say that any design I bring to him he executes flawlessly. Not only is he incredibly gifted, but he teaches me how to care for my nails. I know that without a doubt I'm getting the best treatment around when I book an appt at Pinkie's.

Did I mention that they make it incredibly simple to book appts? The entire staff provide their cell phone numbers to make booking simple and flexible. Parking is rarely a problem which is a blessing considering that the salon is right on Main Street. I think that most of my friends are now regular patrons of Pinkie's after complimenting my nails time after time.

If you're searching for a salon that will make you feel special and look glamorous, this is your place. So go, girl or boy....

Toe Heaven next door is $20 for a mani/pedi and they at least use quick dry topcoat. Same manicure. Nothing special at Pinkies. They did my nails and then put foam slippers on me and told me I needed to leave because they were closing. I told them that I rode my bike so I had to put my sneakers on and that I needed to wait till my toes were dry. She told me I should of told her that before I got my nails done and that I need to wait one hour before wearing shoes. I asked if they had a fan or quick dry polish and she said no. So I said I needed to wait longer or that I would like my money back if they were going to make me leave. She told me I could wait a little longer but only this time. Then 10 minutes later she sent another girl over to put Saran Wrap on my feet and told me to leave. When I asked for 15 more minutes she told me no. I explained that I paid for a service and I also tipped more than 20% and that this was not how I expected to be treated when I was trying to have a relaxing night and treat myself and now they were ruining both the service and experience. Pinkies is my greatest find in Santa Monica. They just remodeled the salon - it’s clean, bright, and has the BEST nail techs. I moved to SM from NYC and spent months trying several nail salons in Brentwood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Venice before finding Pinkies.

I have been seeing Cindy for the past two years and go to her religiously now - I even trusted her to do my bridal nails for my recent destination wedding and like always, she did not disappoint! Some of the other reviews on google are surprising but I know everyone has their own experiences. That said, the staff gets to know you over time and they open up. Kevin, Jessica, Ryan and Cindy are all so kind and they all drive back and forth from OC every day, so if you come close to closing time, respect their commute and time as well.

Their prices are higher than you’re run of the mill salon but my mani’s last a month at least and they have always been so consistent with their work. Call ahead, they are a 7 chair nail salon with a perfect foot traffic location, they get busy!
