I recently visited the Venice Heritage Museum, and really enjoyed it. Their current exhibit, THIS IS SOME PLACE, runs through January 2025, and it's packed with fascinating photos, documents, video and publications.
One of my favorite parts was the media room with the VHM Oral History project. Sitting on the bench watching video interviews projected on the wall was an immersive experience that made me feel connected to the city's impressive people and history. These interviews alone are worth the drive.
The museum is a little gem. I love that it was it was designed in a style reflecting the aesthetic of big museums, while offering a cozy environment perfect for exploring.

This vibrant city has always been a haven for creatives, immigrants and activists, celebrating a rich tapestry of artistic and cultural expression.

I spent my formative years on the Westside and Venice was a big part of those years. I am thrilled that the VHM provides a glimpse into Venice 100 years ago and today. Here's to it continuing to grow...
