It was a horrible racial experience I hope to never encounter again. I can't believe the treatment we received and how we were belittled in front of other customers. Then for no reason the police were called on us. We did nothing at all to deserve this. We were not loud, rude, we did not stand out. We had plenty of money to cover our food and a lot more than that. Denny's 1 block down and across the street from where I live. My daughter-in-law and friend Brandon, made it in first. Ben & I were behind them. They were already seated when Ben & I walked in. The waiter came over and asked what we wanted. We needed menus so we could see what we wanted. We were not given any water or asked if we wanted a beverage. They are automatically supposed to bring water ( when I worked at Denny's years ago that's how we were supposed to treat and greet the customer) Next the manager stopped at our table and said if we wanted to be served. We had to pay for our meal ahead of time. We were told we fit the description of (4 white men) who took off after they ate. We were 2 females 1 mixed race, 1 white 1 black male and 1 Hawaiian/white male mixed. I told the manager it wasn't us. We were not even 4 white males. He didn't care. He said we had to pay for our meal as soon as we ordered it. I showed him I had $300 in cash, we had money. My friend showed him his money, about $200. We were hungry and felt embarrassed. We wanted people to see that we didn't do anything. So against better judgement we were going to eat there. They called the police on us. The officer came and talked to us. They told him we fit the description of (4 white males) that dined & dashed. I told the officer we were 2 women 1 black male & a Hawaiian mixed male. ( How does that even fit 4 white males fitting our description.?) They didn't even take our order until after the officer came there and talked to us. The officer said they have the right to refuse service for any reason. He didn't think it was right of them to treat us like that. We did nothing wrong & we were not ( 4 white males.) We ordered, received our food. we were not offered a refill on our beverages, asked if we wanted to order dessert. They didn't come back to our table at all. They came only to get our cash as soon as we ordered, then to drop off the food. They never came by to check on us to see if the food was acceptable. By the way it sat in the window for so long it was just a little warm. It wasn't very good, we never received our sauces that went with the food. To show them they were way wrong about us. I tipped the waiter anyway. It was embarrassing, degrading and really crazy to be treated that way. ( We were not 4 white males. Neither female even looked close to being a male. The black male was not even mixed. He was dark skinned and was born in Africa. He came here as a child. The Hawaiian mixed male was the closest we came to...
Read moreI am a frequent & longtime customer of dennys restaurants. Usually good service dine in & delivery. Been ordering from this location for a few years. Recently service has not been good. Missing or incorrect items almost every time I have ordered delivery lately. I do order from here at least once a month. Tonight at 10:47pm I ordered. Delivery finally arrived super late by 11:25pm. I check order as it seems lighter. Unfortunately my side of rustic mashed potatoes & side of hash browns with both entrees ordered are missing. PLUS my 1 moons over my hammy samdwhich is missing. I have what appears to be a steak melt maybe? I call store. Lady answering says they can't refund. I'll need to contact doordash. All they can do is remake & I can come pick up or add a credit fir next time. I explained picking up defeats my entire purpose for ordering. Also explained I had called doordash before & they entirely say that THE MERCHANT MUST HANDLE REFUNDS as they can't access payments. So by 12:30pm my order I literally have to go to store to pickup & still wait for them to remake! It's a simple thing to read & check off items on reciepts correctly! I watched a server bagging incorrect items & the other server unbagging saying to be more careful as she wasn't doing it correctly. If I wanted pickup I would of selected that & not PAID EXTRA FOR TERRIBLE SERVICE & A TOTAL RUNAROUND FROM THE RESTAURANT & DOODASH TONIGHT. NOBODY CAN DO ANYTHING HELPFUL ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S BOTH THE DELIVERY PERSON & RESTAURANT FAULTS. DON'T ORDER DELIVERY FROM THE DENNYS WEBSITE UNLESS YOU WANT MISSING, INCORRECT FOOD & CONDIMENTS &/OR ZERO REQUESTED UTENSILS & MAYBE IF YOU'RE LUCKY YOUR DRINKS ORDERED. Uppper management needs to desperately TRAIN & STAFF THIS PLACE MUCH BETTER. I watched many other upset customers come in &/or delayed too! Repeating order back to cashier over 3 times. Server telling drivers picking up "all orders aren't ready!" & this poor man walking in to place an order but nobody taking it even as he's ready to order steak & eggs he says. I work in the industry & wish I could of stepped back behind the counters & helped everybody & put my own correct order together!! Also food was bland & very greasy. Last time my drinks spilled all over bags due to zero carrier & missing ranch dressing for my salad, cheesesticks marinara missing & time before my crepes were minus the actual topping + I got strawberry banana fruit not even my strawberry banana smoothie & kids meal other drink missing. Please upper management get here to see & retrain your night...
Read moreI knew I was in for something when I went to this location on Thanksgiving. I didn't cook and I wanted hot food and McDonald's was closed. We were quickly seated, thankfully, as someone of a very curious nature had taken up residence on the bench at the door who was actively emanating a smell you could smell across the restaurant. I'm not sure what was going on there as they never took a to go order or was seated. The restaurant was quite busy when we seated and we placed our order as soon as our waitress showed up with the hope that that would get us food quicker. We still ended up waiting over an hour for food. Which ended up feeling ridiculous when 1/3 of the restaurant cleared out of patrons and our waitress didn't stop at our table at all to let us know that things were busy or whatever, not that it looked busy table-wise, until I asked her for a rough ETA, hey we know it's Thanksgiving but a rough idea on how much longer we need to wait would be great thanks. And they were very put upon that we asked at all. The only thing we can figure it that there were a lot of to go/UberEats/DoorDash/insert-your-food-delivery-service-here orders. And we got the waitress that was handling 90% of them while also bussing 1/3 of the remaining tables in the restaurant. This poor person was badly managed. And I felt for them. But there were also active food plates on the line that no one was touching for almost 20 minutes. So we had to wonder if we had gotten forgotten for all the to go orders. Especially since our waitress didn't stop by to check on drinks or let us know what was up. After I asked about food we got ours within another 15 minutes or so. Except we were missing a side thing that I would have expected on a plate, something small, and afraid we wouldn't see our waitress again at all for the remainder of the meal, I asked about it. And they snapped at me stating that they were getting it and didn't I see that I had food now? We got the few things that didn't get picked up at first in quick succession and we were checked on a bit more frequently after we got food, and the food was hot, so overall it was good food. But the service and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was pretty lackluster. I'll probably go back on a normal weekend and have a fine experience, but it's these interesting days where places really show you how they can...
