I used to not be a very big fan of Taco Del Mar.
You see, I come from the land of burritos the size of small children for half the price of an Applebee's entree, and every time I went to Taco Del Mar I felt like I was paying too much and receiving too little.
But I figured it out.
It was my fault.
There's a secret I'll share with you. A secret phrase which could change your life. Are you ready to hear it, baby? "Yes, please."
Guacamole and Sour Cream? "Yes, please."
Rice? "Yes, please."
What kind of beans? "Yes, please."
They'll laugh at that one, but just smile and say you'd like both if possible. You have been easy to work with. You haven't been snotty or rude or demanding. You've been polite. Heck, you even made them laugh. You've put them in a good mood. You want both? They'll give you both. You asked nicely, after all.
They'll ask what kind of protein, and after designating which one you want, you're going to go eight back to answering with "Yes, please." It's OK. Look a little sheepish. They'll dig it.
Cabbage or lettuce? Smile, nod, "Yes, please."
They'll look at you and say both? Big grin. "Yes, please."
Salsa? "Yes, please." Laugh and say you're kidding. Pick one. Or two. Or however many your heart desires. Then be sure to thank them.
Congratulations. You have a monster burrito. They gave you extras, and if you played this right, they might not even charge you anything for them because you made their day better instead of being just another @hole making demands. But if they do charge you, accept it gracefully. And if they ask you if you want your receipt?
"Yes, please."
Be fun. Be kind....
Read moreEvery year we order a taco bar for Administrative Professionals Day. Employees love it. However, the service was terrible. I had scheduled catering for 11:15 am delivery (to be setup and ready no later than 11:45 am). I called at 10:45 am to confirm and left a VM; no one ever answered the phone or returned my calls. I left 2 voice mails at the location I had placed the order with and 2 voice mails with the local office (for the Coordinator and Operations Manager of the Lynnwood office). Someone finally showed up at 11:41 am, 4 minutes before it should have been ready!!!! Setup takes about 15 minutes, so our 12:00 meeting started 15 minutes late with other offices on hold, just sitting there waiting for our office to grab lunch. I did not even receive an apology for them being so late. ...
Read moreCan’t even complain about customer service because it’s non existent. Walked in, the lady was rude, on the phone with someone else, brushed me off and told me it’s not ready, mind you I just walked in and I’m looking at the menu, in gym attire and for her to assume I’m a delivery driver. I try to explain, and I ask her what the wait time before I can make an order, she goes on to say “when I am done” in rude tone, she tells me they open at 11am. Then why are the front doors open and your website say otherwise? IF YOURE COMING HERE JUST KNOW YOU CAN DO BETTER WITH FOOD OPTIONS in the city, you’re not missing out on anything...
