Bad....
Went there on 8-3-18, service was honest. First, I asked “can I try your dark cherry ice cream”? They said “no, we don’t let people try our ice cream before they purchase it”. (I was completely shocked and couldn’t believe it, as EVERY OTHER ice cream shop allows a try before purchase! I asked why they don’t allow this? The staff said “well then everybody would just eat all our ice cream as a free trial”.—— (This is just STUPID, and extremely poor management)!
I wanted ice cream anyways, so I went with the risk free Mackinac Island fudge. The taste was normal. Nothing spectacular about the ice cream. It was normal.
When I was done, I wanted to pee, and clean up in the bathroom.
The staff said “oh, we don’t got a bathroom”.
My family and I goto Mackinac Island every year, and we will never step foot in this store ever again. Nor will anyone we tell (which will be a lot of other family’s.
The only good thing about the business is that they have somewhere for you to sit down.
I would have liked to give you a better review, but it was just a terrible...
Read moreThe staff were rude upon entering. No greeting, no offer to help, no recommendations, just standing there looking at me like I was an alien who just landed. The prices are wild. 3 slices of fudge can run you up to 50 to 60 bucks. I just wanted some small cubes of fudge because the huge slices are too much. The best they could do was cut a huge slice in half but refused to cut gourmet slices in half, you HAD to buy them whole. The fudge wasn't even that good when I tasted it. It tasted chalky, dry, and pasty. I get this is a location on an island, but the shop was extremely cramped, barely had any room to stand, and look at the options without you bumping into a table or someone else. The aesthetic of the store was the only appealing thing. I can't speak on their ice cream since I didn't get any, but I'm kind of wishing I did since that has...
Read moreWent with a friend that wanted ice cream around 8:30pm on Saturday, July 20. Employee at fudge counter was engaged, while another employee was behind the ice cream counter playing with his phone. Greeted him a bit loudly to get his attention after standing there waiting for a moment ("hello!") and the fudge employee yelled at me that "he doesn't scoop ice cream." Phone employee moved behind some shelving. We waited patiently for fudge employee to finish with the other customer, and she proceeded to treat my friend coldly, along with a second female employee that materialized and stood around just to glare.
Overall it was bizarre and unprofessional. I'll happily return to other Ryba's locations, but not the storefront near the Pink Pony again.
The two stars are because my friend enjoyed the ice cream. The deductions are for...
