Rivercrest Lighthouse Marina Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Madison

I was there with a family of 5, on a Sunday. We had waited an hour in the bar side. After being seated in the restaurant, it was about 45 minutes before we got our food. One of the orders was wrong. And she decided to just keep the food, for she didn't want to wait any longer. {Which evidently was standard to them.} Others around us also were waiting as long as we did. Then there was an elderly couple sitting next to us. We heard the gentleman let the waitress know both orders of food was incorrect. He was not rude in any manner. Then later another lady came over to speak with them. Perhaps a manager. It was not their server. The lady was getting loud, & we heard the gentleman tell her not only had they waited 40 minutes for their food but it was not even the food both of them had ordered. The lady proceeded to basically argue to say he would wait 40 minutes anywhere to eat in town. The elderly man got up and told her they were leaving. And he seemed calm and trying to be discreet, but the lady suddenly burst into an announcement & told him they could leave her restaurant ! She was so loud it turned everyone's heads to her. I wasn't sure what her point was since the gentleman already claimed he was going. So she brought unnecessary attention to the couple. She only made her restaurant look bad. The restaurant has now established poor service. And not sure what happened to her NOT APOLOGIZING to the couple. She obviously is not management material, if that is what she was. I felt so bad for the couple as they walked out of the restaurant. After leaving we had to walk a deep incline. And then thinking of the poor elderly couple that had to bear the walk back. I was very disappointed in the place and the way business...

We decided to eat here when we learned about the “Ribberfest” and heard the admission price of $45.

This place has open seating, outside and in the bar. We opted to eat away from the bar since smoking was allowed.

The waitress “Holly” brought out menus and took our order, when ordering she asked for a name to keep our parties tickets separate. We had two checks

Party 1 ordered the fish n chips basket with 2 waters.

Party 2 ordered the chicken bacon club and fish n chips with a tea and soda.

The fish n chips was $15.99. It was very tasty, I worry about the amount of breading but this was lightly battered. The hush puppies weren’t the best, this also came with steak fries.

The grilled chicken club was $10.49 and upgraded to a side of frys for an additional 2.50. It was very good, we ordered ranch as a side for dip it never came out even after asking multiple times. We went and got the ranch dip but it tasted awful. Don’t get that ranch.

The waitress didn’t get us refills until we were done. When she brought our checks party 1 got the drinks added, party 2 didn’t get any drinks so she didn’t use her name system to keep the party’s straight.

We probably wouldn’t eat here again, it was a hole in the wall shop and it wasn’t too clean....

I really want to love this place. The food is pretty good and the view is priceless but the service is awful. Management needs to step up their game. One waitress came and took our drink order, then another came and took our food order, then the first one came back to take our food order. They brought drinks we didn’t order, then we waited 1/2 an hour for them to come around to see if we needed another round. Forget going to the bar for drinks; no one was there! Then they dropped off our check when we didn’t ask for it. Then they brought a second check because they felt we had more beers than what they had put on there (honestly, neither were right). We were going to stay but since they brought the check we decided to leave. Waited another 1/2 hour for them to pick up the check and my card, eventually brought it to them. Waited another 1/2 hour for them to bring it back after asking for it twice. Finally went to the register and asked for it ourselves. And it was not busy at all; there was plenty of staff to handle the crowd (it a was a Thursday evening). And when we commented on the service, the manager just shrugged us off like she didn’t really care. Like I said, I want to like this place but they have to try harder to make us want...
