KAPA is perhaps the best dining experience overall in Wailea Beach Resort (WBR). Overall, the dining game in Maui isn't top notch and WBR suffers from that as well. Overpriced and uneventful.
KAPA is right by the main pool in an open patio style setting. It has a beach house vibe but done in a very modern way. Just an awesome place to just hang out and view the ocean. Just with this, they already are winning.
Food is tasty. The surprising spread of various cuisines from all around are well put together. All fit for "pool food" that will make a hungry bunch satisfied. KAPA shouldn't be judged for food primarily but they end up providing the best dining option at WBR by a wide margin. And combine this with a cold Hawaiian lager and you're in paradise. Again, each one of the items aren't top notch. But they are absolutely more than appropriate for the setting.
If you're in WBR, KAPA should be visited frequently. Even if you're not staying at WBR, walk over on the beach path and give KAPA a...
Read moreMy husband and I vacation in Hawaii every year and we always go to Kapa for dinner most of the time we are in Maui. This year we went and found that their menu has changed and it was a little under whelming and not as tasty as it used to be. The food was very tasteless and when we asked if we could have a fish burger like how they were last year we were told that they can not accommodate any changes to any dishes on the menu. The service had also been a little unorganized as some of our servers would change without our knowledge and we kind of would guess who would be serving us or our drinks would be forgotten to be brought to our table but overall it is still such a beautiful place with the perfect view of the sunset and the people are very nice. They also have live music every night which was very relaxing and entertaining. We just wish the menu could go back to how it was for the last 4 years we've been going there or maybe put some dishes with a little...

My family's not usually the type to dine at restaurants in the hotel/resort because we typically like to adventure outside and look for the "foodie" spots. If you're like me and use reviews as a standard for determining where to eat, then let me say that this is a pretty good spot!
I tend to underestimate hotel food and the "bar and grill" title gave me the notion that they serve just American cuisine, which I personally don't prefer when I'm vacationing in Hawaii. However, this actually turned out to be a nice spot for dinner. (:
We stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort so this was only two steps away. Plus, you're right by the pool and can get a view of the sunset here if you time it up right.
The food was also pretty good! I wasn't a big fan of the double ahi roll, but everything else was really tasty! Definitely consider trying this spot, especially if you're staying at...
