We came to Miller's Ale House for a celebration and our waitress was the worst we've experienced since coming to your establishment. She asked if I wanted a salad and when I asked if it came with the meal she said either salad or mozzarella sticks. I chose a salad because I'm allergic to milk and I also asked for more sauce because my pasta was dry, needless to say she charged me for both the salad and the small portion of sauce and never advised me that there was a charge. The food took forever to come out and they were not busy. When asked about the food timing she stated we ordered and appetizers the food will be out. There was very little follow up and the bread was so hard that I couldn't even bite it. I asked for another bread(it didn't come out until the manager brought the glaze for my donuts & my food was already boxed up). Then I ordered dessert when I saw her standing by the restroom which prompted her to finally come to the table to get the dessert order for my roommates. When my donuts arrives they were hot but only had caramel and fudge, and when I asked where the side of glaze was she stated it was on the donuts (please keep in mind I've ordered these donuts multiple times and I have pictures to show the orders arrived with the glaze on the side.) I took her word for it and bit into the donut only to find out there was no glaze on the donuts at all. The manager nonchalantly came with the watered down glaze and it wasn't edible. A few minutes later the waitress came out to advice me that the donuts I didn't eat were being taken off of my check as it should have been. When I initially arrived I ordered a drink at the bar while I was waiting for our table. The manager that was at the food prep area was spot on, I heard them tell the table they weren't providing sufficient food and what corrections to make, however the manager that came to our table didn't seen to care about customer service and he was playing around with the employees. Also the manager at the hostess desk was also great I have frequented this establishment numerous times over the years. I was here in September 3 times because my family from out of town really enjoyed the experience, food and service. I'm extremely disappointed and have no desire to return. I spent over $100 tonight only to have an experience below a 1 star, which is unthinkable considering was I'm used to when I eat here. Very...
Read moreThe food here is pretty good but don’t expect to get good service. The last two times we have gone to this place, the servers have been horrendously slow.
The first time, the server seemed more interested in talking to people at a different table (it seemed like she knew them) instead of waiting on her tables. She never refilled drinks without us having to flag her down and ask. On top of that, 3 out of 5 of our orders were slightly messed up - she didn’t bring mayonnaise, as requested when we ordered; a burger came with everything even though it was ordered with no pickle or tomato, and she brought the wrong salad dressing (and then she didn’t bring the right one until we mentioned it a second time).
The second time, we hit them at a shift change, which I understand, but we waited 25 minutes for our server. The hostess was great and made sure we had drinks but the wait was horrible. I didn’t mind waiting ten minutes, until 5:00, for the shift change, but our server didn’t come out until 5:15 and then took a different table’s order first, even though they had just arrived. Once he waited on us, he brought the wrong size appetizer order (although I didn’t mind because it was bigger and by then, I was hungry) and messed up my burger order, similarly to the first time.
Attention to detail does not seem to be the norm here. I intentionally did not review this place after the first incident since it seemed unfair to judge them on one bad outing, but the second time convinced me they are lacking in server customer service.
Again, though, the hostess was fantastic and the food is good. So, five stars for that, but the servers bring it down to three stars.
SUBSEQUENT EDIT: We gave this place another chance. Not much has changed. The service was OK, but they messed up my burger order yet again - not only once, but twice. (I just ate it the second time because I was tired of dealing with it.). The burger was still decent, but the fries were cold and I think they must be running short on onions because they were quite stingy. They must also have a very small ketchup and mustard budget, too. They don’t have either on the table. You have to ask for it and if you want more than a tiny cup of ketchup, I...
