It's like winning the gluten free lottery! WOW, gluten free pretzels, donuts, baguettes, sausages, dairy free cheese, and other tasty food. And then there's 8 gluten free beers on tap!!! I started going to Bierly Brewing about four years ago in a postage stamp sized location. The husband and wife team who started Bierly had big plans and are now located on the east end of 3rd Street in McMinnville (the street where many of McMinnville's finest restaurants are located). I'll never forget the Mom carrying her infant on her hip while she went about completing work duties. I've returned a number of times to Bierly Brewing since writing the above review and want to add a few things: Bierly won the Gold Medal for the best gluten free Stout in Oregon, and I seriously challenge anyone to tell the difference between their Stout and one with gluten. Secondly, their gluten free chocolate chip cookies are the best I've ever had in my 77 years... and their sandwiches and donuts are totally yummy! Check out the pics I took tonight. I went back this past weekend and had their chicken salad sandwich on the gluten free bread Bierly makes themselves...you can't go wrong. This time I tried their French fries and once again Bierly blew my mind with a whole different take on their fries! Not only do the fries taste uniquely wonderful, the honey mustard dip made them...

Amazing find for Gluten Free. First let me start by saying how JP and Ames are wonderful hosts. During my visit I tries multiple beers from hoppy to lager to stouts...there are multiple taps and multiple options...something to please everyone. Then I tasted the food. The Corndog was perfect. Mildly crispy outside and the right amount of "corn" to not overpower the "dog" as many gluten free items can zap flavor out of food, but not here. Then I moved onto a glazed doughnut and a lemon frosted with Fruity Pebble sprinkles.... yes Fruity Pebbles. Doughnuts were very soft in the middle and served warm. perfectly glazed/frosted. My wife who is not GF commented that the glazed doughnut could be her all-time fave. Then I came back for soft pretzels. Served warm, soft and salted with options for dipping sauce. The preparation of the food was nothing short of masterful. Meanwhile JP ...aka the Nutty professor of Gluten Free Brewing (I mean that as a compliment) walked me through the process to come up with the proper way to make GF Beer. It is nothing short of rocket science. This place will haunt me as it is too far for regular visits. LASTLY - There is a sign posted right at the entrance - No Gluten products allowed. Bierly - Where have you been my...
Read moreI recently had the good fortune to try Bierly while visiting family in McMinnville. I am not gluten-free, however, my wife has celiac disease so we are often on the hunt for good gluten-free fare. Since I am not gluten-free, I can actively compare gluten-free beers to regular beers. Unfortunately, this usually means that even if I find a gluten-free beer to be good in comparison to other gluten-free beers, they rarely stack up to their gluten-ful competition. I can confidently say that I forgot I was drinking a gluten-free beer when I sampled Bierly's Amber IPA. It is unequivocally a good beer, full stop. I suppose this is why it is a national award winner. The entire lineup of beers on tap was equally refreshing. While the brewery may be the tiniest of its kind that I've ever seen, it is charming. The husband-wife owners were friendly and pleasant to chat with. The gluten-free food was made to order, fresh, and delicious. You don't have to be gluten-free to enjoy Bierly but it is a must visit if you are.
Update: It has been a few years since we were last able to visit and Bierly has expanded into a new space! More gluten free food! More gluten free beer! Even better than before! They deserve the success they have enjoyed and we are lucky to enjoy their success with them. Please patronize with...
