Member from 09/22 to 02/23. Nice CrossFit gym with several rotating coaches. The staff are friendly and passionate about what they do. Equipment is in good shape overall, and there's enough room to have the space you need, though sometimes they have to make teams to share the space/equipment (but I don't think that happens often, and you can go to a less full class if you want). The M-F CrossFit class time offerings are, currently: 6, 8, 9, 12, 4, 6, and 7. Weekends are generally 9, 10, and 11, with a class at 12 on Saturdays. The workouts seem more cardio-focused than other CrossFit gyms I've been to and seen on the CrossFit website, but I'm no expert. If I had to estimate, I would say that on any given day the workout is about 50-70% of the total time spent on cardio-focused activities (i.e. jog/run, bike, jump rope, row machine). Weightlifting is not done every day/class. But you definitely get a WORKOUT every class! They also have a separate class (currently offered twice a day) that is cardio only, and an hour-long open gym (also currently offered twice a day), which is nice. Pricing is clearly outlined on the website, which is awesome (hiding prices just makes businesses look shifty). They have an app that you can use to sign up for classes, pay your membership fee, track your progress, calculate your rep maxes, see how full the class is, and see the workouts for the day. Stuff I didn't love as much: I'd like it if they posted the workouts ahead of time on the app. Even a few days in advance would be great. They only post the day of. As a bonus, it would be nice to know who is teaching that class. The instructors all have different backgrounds and specialties (which is nice), so you might want to stick with one if they have the same focus/foci you do. I prefer more lifting-based CrossFit. I feel like this gym is more focused on cardio fitness than on the weightlifting side of things. Not a criticism, just an observation and preference. Ultimately, I decided to use the $200/month for membership to get a home gym so I can focus on rotating muscle groups and weightlifting. UPDATE: I'm eating my words, y'all. I've been doing my thing at home for about five months now, and I miss this place. There's something about that team vibe, get-after-it mentality, and YES even the cardio mixed in with the weightlifting that all comes together to equal gains that I'm just not seeing at home. TL;DR - Would recommend to anyone looking for a good...
Read moreEPIC CROSSFIT EXPERIENCE!!! Miami has many Crossfit boxes, but truly there is only ONE. I live in CT, but I visit Miami often, have been to many boxes, but the experience this place offers is AMAZING. I only wish CT had something equivalent. The location and design of the box is like a scene out of a magazine right on Miami Beach! On one hand it blows you away like only a true state-of-the-art Reebok-backed box can do, but on the other hand the coaches and members truly welcome you with open arms and it feels like one big family. The people involved at this box is what put me over the edge, and inspired me to write a review.
They have created a culture of high intensity, motivation, and kindness from top to bottom. These coaches are simply ELITE, but approachable and very hands-on. Coaching like this is so rare, and I only hope the regular members realize how lucky they are. The level of instruction, motivation, and programming is off the charts. I know I feel lucky to have found this place just for when I am in town, and always can't wait to get back. People flock to Miami for the beaches, the weather, the clubs, the shopping and for good reason... but do yourself a favor, give this box a try, and like me you just might find yourself drawn to Miami...
Read moreJust a quick heads up for people that are from out of town, DO NOT BOTHER COMING TO THIS "BOX" FOR THE FREE CLASS. Came here from Houston and looked up for a box. I signed up for the "free" class and recieved an email from Natalie. Told her I had never been to a box and was "new" to crossfit, although I've done it at my own home gym. She told me the class schedules and told her I would show up the following day. So I take a 45min walk to get there early just for a lady whom I never got her name tell me that the "free" class was only for in town people and people from out of town had to pay. Not only pay but start off in the beginning of the week to start with the "fundamentals class ." It is not mentioned on their website nor the email that these classes are only for residents. She was not at all willing to work with me since I was from out of town and after having to walk 45min one way. As for the environment, I did not feel welcome like stated from previous reviews. Everyone just walked around me, and waited until someone came to me which was 15 min just to talk to that lady that didn't seem to care. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Highly...
