I’ve regularly attended this bar for the last few years because the atmosphere was always great, the live music was usually awesome, and the staff was always incredible.
Recently, however, the vibe has been off. The excitement has been sucked from the souls of the staff. There has been much less live music, and the food options have been severely limited so I don’t even eat there anymore. They might as well just get rid of the food altogether so people can at least smoke inside again.
I went for Colossal Karaoke last night (as advertised) and, instead of karaoke, there was a live band. Highly disappointing. And honestly, the band probably could have sounded good - but they sounded awful because nobody was monitoring the sound levels. None of the staff even knew the band would be there.
The new GM walks around like a warden, and has fired almost everyone who made this place as great as it was. Under her guidance, I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose all of their regular customers. And let’s be honest… it’s not tourism that’s kept this place alive for 13 years. This is a locals spot, but they don’t seem to want the locals there...
Read moreI went to this bar last night. I think it would’ve been better if I didn’t open a tab. After ordering our first round of drinks I asked the bar tender if I could open a tab. He took my credit card. Nothing uncommon. When I went to close the tab he claimed he gave my credit card back to me. Then belittled me and treated me like I was stupid. He said “I’m not the one who has been drinking you are”. He claimed he only had one card with a tab and it wasn’t mine. Once he could see I was coherent and not backing down that he had my card it appeared out of thin air. I just wonder how many people come in and get their card stolen from this guy when they’re intoxicated. The take away from this. If you go here make sure you...
Read moreFriendly staff but the beer prices were steep ($9 for a yuengling, a list of pricing or specials would be nice) and the place was a bit dead. The dj was playing generic retro pop music which was a bit disappointing as we kind of went out of our way to go here specifically to avoid that. We thought they might have more contemporary or unconventional music, based on research.
Even though we were disappointed I want this bar to do well because they book live music sometimes. I think they could improve the bar by determining who is their target audiences are because the vibe at the time seemed to be the exact opposite of what this bar seems like it would be or...
