I really hate giving this place a 1 star. This used to be my absolute favorite place to go to in Miami. My very first visit, I fell in love with the Impossible Chorizo tacos! As a vegetarian, it’s so hard to find tacos that are this delicious. I always looked forward to getting them every single time we were in town, usually multiple times a day. We stayed at the Broadmoor and had tacos and the beach right there! What more could you ask for??

Well when we came back in April for our anniversary, we were told that the North Beach location was shutting down at the end of May. We were devastated because this was my happy place, but decided that we would just start staying in South Beach so we could go to that one instead! And then, to our surprise, that one was shut down instead?? And the North Beach was still open. We were very annoyed because we walked around in 90+ degree weather trying to find the South Beach location only to find out it was gone. So we made a plan to go to the North Beach one.

I have been absolutely stoked to get my tacos again! We Ubered all the way out here and brought my brother to try the food because we wouldn’t shut up about how good it was! While he checked out the menu, I gladly stepped forward to order my tacos! Only to see they were gone from the menu. I asked the cashier and he said they were discontinued. Devastated, I sat down with my partner and brother while they got to enjoy the food and we googled other places to go for me to eat something. This was my go to and I was so excited. Not only am I nor able to get the food I was expecting, not only do I have to deal with the disappointment, but now we have to Uber all the way to another restaurant and I have to try something that I know won’t compare, something I might not even like.

I know it won’t seem like a big deal to most people, but this was something small that brought me so much joy. And the rollercoaster of emotions of enjoying them and then being told they were closing and then realizing I could get them in SB and then that one being closed and having to come up here and get them and then finding out they’re discontinued sucks.

I noticed a few things taken off the menu. I don’t know if this place is under new management or what. But unfortunately we will never be back. It sucks because we always held this place near and dear...

Love the food and now it’s great because I live nearby. All the tacos are very well seasoned. I’ve tried almost all of them and they’re all pretty amazing and unique. Whoever created the menu did an oustanding job. The music is usually great. A little pricy esp for North Beach though but worth it. Also the music is amazingggg! Great vibes. And the location is awesome, right on the beach :)

Update: I came to add another star because the food is seriously amazing and it has become one of my favorite restaurants now. The food is 5 stars and they don’t deserve anything under a 4 tbh. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I would love if the employees wore masks always. I know it’s hot and it’s Florida so I will take what I can get lol. Thank you to the owner for responding. Veryyy happy that you offer pickup and will be using it soon! Not all places on the beach have gratuity included but I honestly don’t mind if pickup is available. The food is great and the employees also.

Old review: -1 star because they don’t take phone orders even for locals. For that reason I can’t go often because I usually don’t have a lot of time to wait around. Don’t think they have delivery either so I just end up ordering from a different local place where I can pick up and it’ll be ready. Also wish they closed after 9! Edit: -1 more because I just noticed they have an automatic gratuity on to go orders? When it’s already inconvenient to come and wait 30 minutes when I’m working. And during a pandemic lol. I would gladly love to leave a great tip if my order is ready...

If you’re in Miami and craving authentic Mexican flavors, Taquiza is an absolute must-visit. This spot is all about fresh, handmade tortillas, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The dedication to quality ingredients and traditional techniques sets them apart, making it one of the best taquerias around.

A must-order item? The totopos. These aren’t your average chips—they’re handmade, torn tortillas deep-fried to crispy, salty perfection. Pair them with the queso, and you’ve got a seriously addictive appetizer. Don’t skip this—it’s unreal!

When it comes to the main dishes, the quesadillas are incredible, but be warned—they’re huge! If you’re planning to try multiple dishes, be mindful of portion sizes. The tacos are another highlight, and we made sure to try them all. While each had its own unique appeal, our top pick was the Mahi Mahi—perfectly seasoned, fresh, and bursting with flavor.

Another must-try? The Elotes. Taquiza’s take on Mexican street corn is absolutely delicious—charred, coated in creamy, tangy goodness, and packed with flavor. It’s the perfect side to complement any dish.

Overall, Taquiza delivers on every level—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and an authentic experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a feast, this place is a winner. Just come hungry and be ready to indulge in some of the best Mexican...

Ok so I drive by just about everyday and I have been ignoring my new favorite taco place all this time... the ugh. Today, after seeing a lot of posts about this joint, I decided to come in and boy was I happy I did. Listen, this is authentic, not Tex Mex or any type of fusion. These are tacos done the right way. I wanted to try different ones and with these prices you are able to without breaking the bank. tried the carne asada(ended up ordering an extra one after trying it, yes that good) the pastor, shrimp and chorizo. Every single one of them is so flavorful and so delicious. Side of line and onions, cabbage and cilantro all separate so you can add as you wish. My faves were the barbacoa and carne asada just because the pork and meat were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. Truth be told, they're not too big but prices range between $3.50 and $6 so why not try a few. This is definitely my new taco joint in South Beach until further notice lol. Staff is super welcome, friendly and attentive, ask for Kayleigh, she's awesome.

Right across from the beach trail, spacious outdoor seating, nice staff, insanely good margaritas ($15/per), excellent, authentic, traditional, Mexican cuisine. We had huitlacoche (corn smut/fungus) tacos, chapulines (grasshopper) tacos, and all the rest. Their home made blue corn tortilla chips (Totopos), which they fry, are puffy and dense and lightly salted, & yes they are expensive at $12 for a side but they are delicious and filling, especially with their guac, beans, or special cheese sauce. I promise you that you will find at least one or two things on their menu that is not very common elsewhere. My favorite taco is the lengua. The grasshopper taco is ok, nothing special, but worth a try. They do automatically include the tip, but unlike some of the other restaurants the employees deserve it in my opinion just for being customer friendly. It's Miami Beach, so just relax, go to Taquiza when you have time to spare, don't rush, and try to enjoy something fresh and different!
