A MUST TRY- you will not be disappointed!
We came to visit Miami from New York-hubby was in the mood for some seafood, it just so happened we shared something in the area and they were having their soft opening.
Beginning with the atmosphere-this place is adorable!! Very cute decorations and TVs everything which hubby loved as he was able to eat and watch his sport games.
The waitress named Jheimy was so sweet and knowledgeable. She made such great suggestions and we are so thankful to have took her offer because we were NOT disappointed.
We started off with the 12 oysters- we did 6 raw original and 6 steamed with their du jour sauce. They were both very fresh but we just loved the sauce more. We both agreed that they should offer the oyster condiments with the original. (gave lemon)
For our meal- they gave us bibs, gloves, shell cracker, and these scooping tools as well as wipes for after even though you will need to wash up once your done. We got a pound of each and we were stuffed leaving lots of extra behind as we wouldn’t be able to bring it back to our hotel room. We got lobster tails, green mussels, head off shrimp, crab legs and added extra sausage. All batches came with potatoes and corn which the red potatoes were delicious! The corn was over cooked but the seafood and sausage were cooked to perfection!!! We only got the crab du joir sauce as we loved it on the oysters and knew we would enjoy it in our mixed batch. The sauce is a combo of all the sauce together. We got a medium flavor as it had a nice kick but wasn’t overwhelming on the sauce flavors allowing us to still taste the Cajun and lemon flavors. We do love our spicy and agreed the medium was perfect.
To top everything off, when we got our bill the waitress gave us these cute little caps with their names on them. The price was so good for all that we got and gratuity was already included but we decided to up it for the amazing service that we received.
Overall, we had such an amazing experience and loved everything. This place is definitely going to be a hit in the area and we can NOT wait to return back to Miami to have them again. My husband still talks...
Read moreI’m in Miami on vacation with my siblings and I thought some good seafood would be great!we walk in and the hostess greeted us and we say table for 4 she sits us and couple mins go by and a server comes and imminently says and I quote “how can I help you guys” like hello how are you or at least introduce yourself. Well we order our drinks mind you it’s only 4 of us and we came in a little before 10 it’s was not busy at all ! We ordered appetizers we got fries, garlic bread and, Cajun fries. Then ordered our boils and my brother ordered a burger with fries. We got our boils and some appetizers first then she came back gave us the rest of the boils and my brother burger with fries . I had to ask for our drinks because she forgot. We also ordered rice and the garlic bread she forgot about that to. She brought us everything she forgot she set it down and left. The food was good we were almost done eating. She comes by and asks us everything okay and I said no she didn’t come not once to check in on us for refills we needed ketchup for the fries. I told her she didnt even come back to check up on us and she said “I was busy” with an attitude like what!! We all looked at each other like did she really say that. I said well can we get refills she goes to the back and come back empty handed and says “our soda machine is off” I’m sorry what I said well what can we get and she says” I don’t know ima check the bar” she come back with our drinks finally! We ask for the bill and the bill is over 200 dollars and for seafood i understand but 18% tip was included 32 dollars for that service we got was insane! We didn’t ask for a manager because we really don’t like to complain. I really tried to understand her but to tell a paying customer I was busy is crazy. Come here if you want to tell your server how to...
Read moreCrab Du Jour is outstanding! I'm only now posting this review after having eating from this restaurant twice already so it can validly be said, this is no one hit wonder. I experienced food consistency and quality!
Without a doubt, this is one of the reviews that's difficult to write as it makes me want to reassess many of the restaurants I previously gave good reviews. For example, I recently had fried oyster sliders on the beach that were good after having gone a few years without a good oyster sandwich. THEN CAME CRAB DU JOUR'S AUTHENTIC FRIED OYSTER PO'BOY! The bar has been set my foodie fries and as my Jamaican friends would say: "They ah lead!". Both the fried oyster po'boy and the buffalo shrimp po'boy (fried shrimp are tossed in buffalo sauce - drool here) are accompanied by your choice of cajun fries, french fries or sweet potato fries and the serving sizes are ample. Also important to note, with the oyster po-boy I had a mouthful of fried oyster in every bite! So a few of my previously "good' ratings for other restaurants must now be adjusted in light of this new contender.
The menu is vast so either follow me here or bookmark this restaurant in order to see my sampling updates on various entrees and appetizers as I make my way around the menu! Conch fritters are next up!
How many times have we found good food in South Florida only to have to suffer horrible service? Not at all the case here. Antione customized my order just like I imagined it and took the time to explain to me why it wasn't already listed that particular way. He also went above and beyond to show gratitude for my repeat patronage! That's uncommon in South Florida.
CRAB DU JOUR, WELCOME! MIAMI IS LONG OVERDUE FOR A SOUL REVIVAL AND YOU ARE THEREFORE A WELCOME AND...
