If you haven’t been served by Hugo at The Sylvester, I hate to break it to you, but you’re missing out on a core life experience. This man isn’t just a bartender—he’s a cocktail wizard, a charisma machine, and possibly an undercover celebrity because there’s no way someone this talented and good-looking is just casually making drinks for us mere mortals.
Let’s talk about the drinks—he doesn’t just mix them, he elevates them. You think you’re ordering a simple margarita— but then it arrives, and suddenly you’re questioning if you’ve ever actually tasted a margarita before. The precision? Unmatched. The confidence? Magnetic. The way he shakes a cocktail? Honestly, someone should be filming it in slow motion. This guys shoulder mobility is astonishing, I’ve never seen a more limber individual in my life.
And then there’s the earrings. The single, dangly fkn earring that just adds to the whole enigmatic, effortlessly cool, probably-a-main-character energy. It’s giving “mysterious but fun,” “dangerous but safe,” and “I know how to make a Ramos gin fizz but also probably have great taste in music with bands and artists that definitely have a couple of allegations”
Hugo is the moment. Come for the cocktails, stay for the vibes, and mentally prepare yourself because once he makes your drink, no other bartender will...
Read moreWould never guess how cute this place is by looking at it from the outside. When you walk in you’re transported into a cool retro living room with a lot of little areas to lounge and a long bar. I came with a group of friends and we posted up at the bar. I was first to arrive and by myself and the girl who sat next to me told right away that she loved this bar and it was her fave. So already off to a great start before I even ordered anything.
The bartender that greeted me was really nice and went ahead and let me know they were on happy hour and showed me the menu of cocktails. They had a good selection too on the HH menu. She also showed me the special themed menu they had for 4th of July which included an open bar from 6-8, in honor of 4th of July. The names of the cocktails are all very Miami and very funny. I had the Merge or Die which was like drinking summer in a glass. I really liked it. Our next bartender Robert was awesome and did a great job mixing the open bar drinks for us, if you’re looking for great service he’s the guy for sure. While we were there the DJ started up and he had great mix of 90s RNB, reggaeton, and classic bops. All in all, this is a great choice to enjoy some quality cocktails and...

I recently visited The Sylvester in Miami, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots in the city! From the moment you walk in, the retro-chic décor sets the perfect vibe for a relaxing yet fun evening. The atmosphere is both cozy and lively, making it ideal for a night out with friends or even a casual date.
The cocktails are a real standout! Each drink is crafted with such attention to detail, and the flavors are innovative yet perfectly balanced. I tried the “Florida Man” and it was exceptional—refreshing and packed with tropical flavors. Their small bites are just as impressive, especially the empanadas!
The staff is friendly and attentive, always making sure your glass is never empty. They really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.
Overall, if you’re looking for a unique spot in Miami with great drinks, delicious bites, and a cool, laid-back atmosphere, The Sylvester is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
