Yesterday my daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting C. Adams Bakery, for the 15th time (specifically for the pot de crème) and I can confidently say itâs a true gem for anyone with a sweet tooth! From the moment you step close to the counter youâre greeted by an absolutely beautiful selection of baked goods that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
The presentation of the treats is impeccable, with each item thoughtfully arranged and beautifully packaged. Itâs evident that a lot of care goes into not only the baking but also the presentation. The sandwich cookies are a particular standoutâhuge, soft, and bursting with flavor! They are a delightful treat that you wonât want to miss.
However, the real star of the show for me was the pot de crème. It is, without a doubt, the BEST Iâve ever tasted! Silky, rich, and perfectly balanced, itâs a dessert that leaves you craving more. I could easily indulge in this heavenly creation every day!
The customer service at C. Adams Bakery is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help you find the perfect treat. Their passion for baking and commitment to customer satisfaction truly enhances the overall experience.
If youâre in the area, I highly recommend stopping by C. Adams Bakery. With its stunning selection, incredible flavors, and wonderful service, itâs a delightful destination for anyone who appreciates quality baked goods. I canât wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreThis rating is based on their current selection of bakery items, which I'm sad to say has vastly deteriorated and no longer has the assortment of superior items which I had grown accustomed to. I see some previous comments that also refer to this change in menu, and upon further research a Journal Sentinel article was published about a change of ownership. What a disappointment, it seems the current owners are marketing themselves to a very boring, child-like palate. Perhaps that is their intent, or perhaps they need to further refine their tastes and culinary experience. Gone are the sumptuous pastries, tarts, individual-sized cakes etc. It is now mostly brownies, cookies, and cupcakes plus some very expensive cakes, all very pedestrian items and none that stand out or warrant the high pricing.
The danish pastries they had for years before the ownership change were EXCELLENT, often sold out way before I'd manage to arrive in the late morning or early afternoon. I was truly saddened when an employee informed me they no longer make them. If C Adams is marketing itself to a high-school and under crowd, or adults with a very basic palate, they're doing a good job of it. But if they want to be regarded as an upscale urban bakery they need to seriously revamp their menu. No one needs to make a separate trip to the often super-packed Public Market for cupcakes, cookies or brownies. We can buy that at our nearest grocery store or better yet make it...
Read moreIf I were rating C Adams Bakery solely on the appearance of their display case, this would be a five star "Stop the Presses" type of review. My daughter and I were visiting the Public Market for the first time and the fully stocked display case at C Adams made quite the initial impression. After fawning over the embarrassment of riches, my daughter elected to go with the red velvet cupcake and we ventured off to our next destination.
Now for the unfortunate section of the review.
My daughter generally does not discriminate when it comes to pastries, she loves them all, whether they come from a fine French patisserie or the neighborhood Piggly Wiggly. However, after a couple of bites from her cupcake, she uttered the words I never, ever thought I'd hear:
"Dad, this cupcake really sucks."
I stared in stunned silence, concerned that my daughter was abducted by aliens and replaced with a pod. Before racing to the authorities to report the impending alien invasion, I thought it wise to sample the cupcake myself. And you know what, the cupcake sucked. It was dry, dense and bland. The frosting had a weird, dense texture. When I bit into the cupcake, the topping actually fell off the cupcake in a single piece. Not cool, C Adams, not cool.
So if you like just looking at your cupcakes, I highly recommend C Adams. Otherwise, go elsewhere for...
