West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe, located in the Third Ward Public Market, is an absolute must-visit for any food lover, and it has quickly become a favorite spot for my daughter and me! With over 200 award-winning cheeses, handmade sausages, and a fantastic selection of deli items, this shop is a true treasure trove of deliciousness.

One of the standout features of this shop is their incredible beef jerky. I can confidently say that it’s the best beef jerky I’ve ever had! The flavor is rich and savory, with just the right amount of spice and chewiness that keeps you coming back for more. My daughter and I make regular trips just to stock up on this jerky; it’s perfect for snacking on the go or enjoying at home. They offer a variety of flavors, so there’s always something new to try, but we can never resist our favorite!

In addition to the beef jerky, the selection of cheeses is simply fantastic. Whether you’re looking for sharp cheddars, creamy bries, or unique flavored cheeses, you’ll find it all here. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to offer samples, which makes it easy to discover new favorites. I also appreciate the handmade sausages—they’re perfect for grilling or adding to a charcuterie!!

The deli items and ready-made foods are another great addition to the shop. From fresh sandwiches to delightful sides, there’s something to satisfy every craving. It’s a perfect spot to grab lunch or pick up goodies for a gathering.

The atmosphere of the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe is warm and inviting, making it a pleasure to browse the aisle. Situated in the bustling Third Ward Public Market, it adds to the vibrant ambiance of the area. The staff is always friendly and eager to help, enhancing the overall shopping experience.

Overall, West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe is a top-notch destination for anyone looking to indulge in high-quality, delicious foods. With their unbeatable beef jerky, incredible cheese selection, and delightful deli offerings, my daughter and I will continue to be regulars at this fantastic shop! Highly recommend stopping by if you’re...

Love the west allis location, but this location done me wrong. There are zero signs that ask you to order at the register—at least none that I’ve seen. I was standing at the deli bar/counter, waiting until the cheese shop employee was ready to help me. He saw me. I was 3 feet away from him. I smiled when we made eye contact but he would look away.

Once he was done with what he was doing, he walked to a co-worker and began chatting and laughing. I thought maybe they were talking about an order, but this went on for a couple minutes until I realized he wasn’t going to help me. I walked over to where they were shooting-the-poo behind the deli counter and said, “Hi, what’s the best way to order?”

He replied, “I’ll take your order at the register.”

At the register, I jokingly said, “Sorry, I didn’t know what the best way to order was. I was super confused.”

He didn’t smile. Didn’t laugh. Didn’t offer apologies for the confusion. He just dead-eye stared at me like, “so? Are we done?”

I paid.

He said, “your order will at the end of the bar when it’s ready.”

He worked on it—fixed half of it—and then began working on something else that involved corned beef. It (my Bloody Mary) sat there for a few minutes before his coworker finished it up and handed it over the bar to me.

This experience made me extremely sad because I work in customer service and I pride myself in making sure the customer has the best experience… obviously, if someone is being obtuse I adjust my walls of defense, but for the most part customers just want help. They don’t know the drill and we can’t expect them to read minds.

Really difficult to enjoy the food, or the experience, when you get done like this. On top of all that, my sister and her daughter were in town from California and I was talking this place up! What a bummer.

I’m super disappointed in the service. Do better, Milwaukee Public Market -West Allis...

Walking past the outdoor seating area today, I saw what looked like yummy (World's Best?) Bloody Marys. We went through the art fair and got a table. Ordered. We sat immediately in front of the little bar area. Watched others get their drinks...not us. Just us 2 people waiting.....so I asked the server after 10 mins past ordering if it was possible for my chaser to come, and her soda...The server apologized and presented me with a warm (not even barely cool) chaser of beer, and my girlfriend's Sprite. After another 10 minutes the food came. She ordered a simple BLT, toast was black, all edges, looking like they toasted it with a torch. My roast beef was on bread which was bland and dry. Chips were all stuck together and dark greasy brown which seemed like they were deep fried twice. Tick. Tick. Tick. Another 10-15 min goes by.....no bloody mary. Sigh. I asked to have it removed from our bill, was removed, another volley of apologies. Sadly disappointed. Was dying to try the World's Best and was rejected by the...

Don’t be fooled by the 4.3 rating! IT DESERVES 5.0! FANTASTIC cheese shop with the best quality cheeses and sausages. DELICIOUS SANDWICHES prepared quickly to eat at the counter or take with you as you browse the market. We had the Breakfast Sandwich and it was fantastic! Made on a croissant with Wisconsin Cheddar and Nueske’s Bacon, it was mouthwatering and the best breakfast in the market! We bought some Sartorial Cheeses and Nueske’s bacon, duck breast and pâté. Everyone around us was having Bloody Marys and were raving about them. They use locally produced Lutz Bloody Mix and it was clearly a hit! This is a MUST STOP when visiting the Public Market!

Hit or miss at this place. I strongly discourage you to order the chicken and waffles. The chicken is a frozen patty, that is spongey with zero shred. On top of that, the waffles have kidney stone size chunks of sugar in them. Then to top it off, you pay $15 for the frozen chicken and waffle. Over priced, and very underwhelming. I do however, want to say their sandwiches looked very good, and their American breakfast plate looked tasty. Unfortunately, I am going to have to review this place based off what I ordered. I have put a picture of their spongy chicken, and sugar rocks.

Best cheese around! They also have this drink called The Milwaukee Mule... let me just say that it’s the best slushy ever... they are strong so if you’re driving only have one... 🥰I also have tried multiple things on their menu... The sausage and cheese plate is wonderful but the Poutine is absolutely a win... and if you want a healthier choice the cashew salad is to die for...give this place a try... you won’t be disappointed 😋
