Visiting St. Paul Fish Company for the 3rd time. It’s not near my house but I stopped by here every time we visited Wisconsin to get our favorite dish “lobster roll”.
St. Paul Fish Company is located inside Milwaukee Public Market. It offers fresh seafoods and variety cooked seafood dishes. As I mentioned earlier, our family’s favorite dish is lobster roll. We get it every time. It comes with coleslaw, fried and lobster roll with a great deal $22.95. It’s a good size of bread with a lot of lobster filling. Every bite has a taste of lobster!! Today we also got clam chowder soup and lobster bisque. They both so tasty. My son and my husband really like lobster bisque. Both soups are creamy and thick.
The restaurant offers dine in but unfortunately there are not a lot of tables. It’s hard for big group more than 4people to get seats. You have to check in at the counter before you get the table.
Today, we were there at rush hour during lunch. So, we decided to order carry out and grabbed the table on the second floor. There are a bunch of tables available. There are also cleaning crew cleaning tables. The tables are so clean and organized.
The restrooms are also available on the 2nd floor.
Additionally, Last couple times we had calamari steak, oysters, mussels and king crab roll. All those were fresh and delicious. For me, I think lobster roll tastes better than king crab roll. So, I got king crab roll only once.
Furthermore, if you want to get fresh seafood to cook at home, there are so many fresh seafoods offering such as fish, lobster tails, king crab legs, crab cakes, etc. I have never got any fresh seafood but they all look good.
Tips: -There are so many shops located inside Milwaukee Public Market including food, drink and desserts.
you can bring any food to enjoy...
Read moreI've been a frequent visitor to the public market and have always been intrigued by this bustling seafood joint. Given its constant crowds, I finally decided to give it a try with my partner. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.
My partner ordered the clam chowder soup, while I opted for the fried shrimp, lobster on a stick, and oyster Rockefeller. Unfortunately, the food fell far short of our expectations.
The clam chowder was the first letdown. It was watery and bland, lacking the rich, creamy texture and depth of flavor that good clam chowder should have.
The fried shrimp, which I hoped would be a highlight, was equally disappointing. The seasoning was non-existent, leaving each bite tasteless and unsatisfying.
The lobster on a stick was perhaps the most disheartening of all. For the price, I expected succulent, flavorful lobster. Instead, it was bland and rubbery, with no seasoning to enhance its natural flavor. It was a chore to eat, and definitely not worth the price.
Finally, the oyster Rockefeller, a dish I usually love, was a bland mess. The oysters were overpowered by an uninspired mixture of spinach and breadcrumbs, with no hint of the garlic, butter, or cheese that should elevate this dish. It appears they just threw all of the ingredients together.
Overall, the food at this popular spot was incredibly bland and not worth the price or the wait. I’m puzzled as to why this place is always so busy. If you enjoy flavorful, well-prepared seafood, do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are plenty of other vendors in the market and the city that offer a far better...
