A friend and I went to Tied House for drinks and dinner before a show at the Skylight Theater. We could park to be close to the restaurant & the theater so it was perfect. The new owners have a vision of a Milwaukee community meeting place; a destination for dinner & socializing with family and friends. Bar service was good with Kai being attentive and helpful. For dinner I had the Fried Chicken & Jam flatbread, while my friend had one of the salads. The Flatbread was AWESOME with a unique combo of chicken with jam - nice! My friend loved the salad saying it was big enough to be filling and not overwhelmed with just salad greens. We stopped back after the show for a drink. The Drink Scientist Adam made my friend an outstanding Irish Coffee, with his own special recipe for a better drink! Dinner prices were great while I thought the drink prices were a little high, they are in line with what most downtown Milwaukee bars charge. The whole place looks great. This location is well known & loved to Milwaukee for decades as the M&M Club with a short time as an Irish Pub. The restored space has a great feel with Adam & Melissa wanting to make the place enjoyable all year around with an outstanding outdoor patio, a renewed indoor dining space featuring a stunning piece of original art by Evan Crain incorporating Milwaukee imagery and the bar area always comfortable to stop in or spend an evening with friends and family. Check it out for drinks, dinner,...
Read moreTied House is a true gem of Third Ward and Milwaukee. These photos are a little dated, as I know that they have moved on to their winter theme for the year, but all comments are still true! Speaking of themes, how cool is it for a business to invest in changing out its menu and decor to align with the seasons? We can't wait to check out the winter chalet theme. Anyways, the drinks that we ordered were delicious, delivered quickly, and very budget friendly. Not to mention that the staff and owners are incredibly generous. We really appreciated that both owners checked in on us and got to know us. It made the experience feel very personal and special. I wish I could give bonus stars for bringing us blankets when we got chilly. My only wish for Tied House would be that they offer some sort of food. We ended up leaving earlier than we would have hoped because we got hungry after our cocktails. Some finger food or charcuterie would've made the experience...
Read moreWe had a great dinner at Tied House last night. My burger was one of the best I've ever had - obviously high quality and fresh beef, large but not obnoxious, prepared just as I hoped (I asked for medium to medium-rare, came out red but not bloody). Roll was fresh and good, too. The fry's were great; I don't think they call them shoestring, but I think it's an appropriate description. Thin, perfectly fried and delicious. My wife had the Roasted Vegetable Flatbread, also delicious.
There was a private party happening in the bar area but we were warmly welcomed and directed to the dining area. They have a broad beer selection as well as any cocktail you could want. Service was timely and subtle, we learned our server was one of the owners only by asking. She cheerfully answered our questions about the buildings history.
We highly recommend Tied House for locals and visitors looking for a great atmosphere...
