LMAO I remember coming here to eat my first ramen EVER and it's such a hilarious memory. So we got there when they opened up since it was a saturday and we go very early to eat with my dad. My sister and I were such weebs back then and we saw the characters eating ramen and we thought it looked soooo good. My sister searched up a good ramen place near by and this one came out. Let me tell you what a let down it was hahahaha. We order food and they were like two 17yo there. Pretty decent and very tired looking. (We were the first and only costumers) We order three ramens. We get the ramen. Cold ASF. noodles weren't even cooked. Tasted horribe. Bleh. I only took three bites and decided I was not going to eat. My dad didn't even like it at all (he's not a picky eater) but still ate half of it. My sister just chucked it. Bad experience. Worst and funniest food experience since the food was horrible but the memory still makes me chuckle. Will...
Read moreI enjoy this place. I makes Japanese food more approachable than some sit down restaurants. When you go and it it not too busy, the staff will be able to answer questions to give you a beginner lesson on what the ingredients are. People have been given a notion that Japanese food in the US is all about sushi, and 123 makes sure that a patron has the chance to try other casual Japanese cuisine. They offer a nice product for a decent price.
This is a good place for Japanese food beginners. The fresh ingredients on the counter allow a customer to see the what goes into the dish they've ordered. Ethnic food can be intimidating to any the average american, and even some more explored food seekers. 123 leans away from glorifying the ethnic food and lets the integrity of the food be the star. A welcoming and familiar setting, combined with a reasonable price point and a reasonable variety makes this a good place to explore casual...
Read moreStopped here for a quick lunch and the ramen was surprisingly good. I ordered the pork belly and the entire bowl was overall impressive. I think the predominant flavor was dashi/seaweed, however the pork belly was very flavorful. The noodles came out of a package and the soft boiled egg could have used some seasoning (soy bath), but overall I honestly can't complain. The price was about as low as it gets and the service was fairly quick. The entire bowl along with a separate container of broth was nicely packaged up for transport. Overall I'm giving this place a high score simply because they are one of the only ramen lunch options accessible by skyway and the price was super low. $12 for a bowl of near legit ramen is...
