Mari's Uptown — Restaurant in Minneapolis

Per the recommendation of a friend, my husband and I went to check out the recently opened Mari's in Uptown, and we were blown away by the food and kind service from Alyssa. We ordered the slider trio, Lake Street Chic sandwich with fries, and the Mari's eggrolls. Each had its own unique complexities of flavors and textures. The short rib slider with crispy onions left our jaws dropping, from the tangy sauce, succulent meat, and perfectly toasted bun. The Lake Street Chic was perfectly fried and juicy, and the vibrant, pickled/marinated vegetable toppers provided a perfect respite to the richness of the sandwich and the fries. Speaking of -- the fries are thick-cut beauties with a wonderful combination of soft potato, salty/savory-ness, and crispy outsides. The eggrolls -- their own adaptation of a textural guru's dream -- were crunchy, with the soft filling of pillowy eggs, hashbrowns, and cheese making this something I will crave and speed through Minneapolis to get again!

Everything was so good we decided we HAD to order wings to go (a personal favorite of mine!), which were equally good - we had the dry rub and lemon pepper.

The environment was fun, with old-school music videos playing -- a fun conversation piece throughout the evening.

It’s been a week since my wife and I ate at Mari’s, and we’re still talking about how good it was. I don’t usually post reviews, but this place deserves one.

We sat at the bar and Alyssa was our bartender—she was super friendly, attentive, and gave amazing service. I had the Mari’s Margarita (definitely recommend it) and my wife had a glass of wine.

We shared the egg roll, the slider sampler, and the Lake Street Chic chicken sandwich. Everything was awesome. The egg roll alone is worth coming back for, and the sliders—especially the short rib—were honestly the best I’ve ever had. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly, juicy and full of flavor.

Excellent food. I had the double smash! Tater tots. And tea. I flew in late and they were open on a Sunday. Plenty of tvs going with all the sports. Great service by the bartender. I’ve rented an apartment walking distance from here and plan to have dinner many more times.

I really enjoyed how nice they were as well.

Update!!! Returned on 10/16/25 for dinner after a long day. Had the pleasure of being served by Alyssa. Holy moly she’s amazing. Great energy. Very prompt. Was super attentive and really lit up the room. She talked to every customer in the building and seemed to really care not just going through the motions.
