Mother Dough has a variety of breads, salads, sandwiches, and deserts + pastries that make it the perfect spot to have a pick-me-up. Lunch feels much more elavated. My favorite is their Tuna Club Sandwich! One thing that makes them stand out is their amazing staff. David is very attentive, polite, and personable with each and every customer. He's efficient and very skilled as a barista. Having someone who genuinely cares about their customers and their craft is what makes this place that much more enjoyable to visit. All employees are very kind and attentive.

Extremely cool location in a modern building, comfy couches and comfortable cool surroundings are the signature of the place. Croissant was an outstanding example of fine viennoiserie with a delicate yet firm buttery crust. The almond croissant was equally good with a not too sweet filling complimenting the flaky pastry. Alas the accompanying espresso left much to be desired. Too large a shot (about 3-3.5 oz) which was over extracted. But the friendly service, vibe and baked goods compensate well!

Wow, I think I finally found what I’ve been searching for all my life in the Twin Cities. What? What? A rich and delicious chocolate cake. Seriously, I’ve been everywhere locally and no chocolate cake has won me over… until now. It’s moist, rich, and very chocolaty like how I like it. I have tried some of their other sweets too and have loved them all. This might be my new favorite bakery.

Maybe I go there not long after they open in the morning and that is why my experience is not good. Not the friendliest crew both times I have been there. I am not hard to please after years in the food industry, so I don't care about that, as long as the food is good. However, I got the brioche breakfast sandwich on 2 separate occasions and both times they were cold. I work close by so the walk back to my desk did not cool it down. I had to microwave it when I got back as it was cold in the inside. There were grill lines on the bread, but nothing was even "warm" much less hot. Having to microwave this made the bread doughy. It is a good sandwich and very large. You get your money's worth. I should have went back there and had them fix it, but the stink eye I got just for walking through the door made me decide not to do it. I may try it again and make sure I check the sandwich before I leave and not be intimidated by having them...

I can’t say enough good things about this bakery! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, genuine hospitality, and the heavenly aroma of freshly baked goods and freshly brewed coffee. The real standout, though, is David. He goes above and beyond for every customer — whether it’s remembering your favorite order, offering thoughtful recommendations, or just taking the time to make you feel welcome.

It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to both the quality of the food and the experience of the people who walk through the door. Everything I’ve tried here has been absolutely delicious — from the flaky pastries to the perfectly balanced sandwiches and rich, flavorful coffee. You can truly taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite or sip.

David and the team have created something special — not just a bakery, but a place where people feel taken care of. This place is a gem, and I’m so grateful to...

Update: While I do still enjoy the smooth coffee and bakery items, I was put off by their refusal to accept cash as a payment type. There is so much talk of acceptance and diversity these days but we become so spoiled we don't see we are part of this discrimination problem ourselves. What about those who do not have a bank card or apple pay. We take for granted that having a bank account etc is a given, when truly it is not for many. Maybe you should rethink this cashless system and allow those less fortunate the opportunity to enjoy your services. Love the smooth non-bitter flavor of their coffee and their baked goods...
