Not impressed. You would think with every meal being $20+ you would get better service. During our visit, it was NOT busy. 3-4 people at the bar, maybe 3 other tables of seated guests. Our waitress came to the table the first time (approximately 10-15 minutes of already sitting there) to take our drink orders: we were already ready to order our appetizers and meals. We had a long time to look at the menu, which we had to use our phones after scanning a QR code. Not long after someone else brought our drinks. Approximately 10 minutes later we received (by yet another person) our appetizers (2), which were decent enough, and were polished off over the course of another approximately 5-10 minutes. We sat around talking, joking for another 15 minutes before our food was brought out by the same person who brought us our drinks. At this point, all of our drinks were either empty or near empty and we have not seen our waitress again and no one else came around to offer any refills. We ate our food which was very disappointing and unimpressive. I've had better salads from Save Mart for a fraction of the cost. Half romaine lettuce stock chopped, one Roma tomato cut into 4 wedges, 2 lemon wedges (1/2 a lemon), a very very very little plastic cup with a basic dressing (practically thousand island), and a few pieces of tiny shrimp. Not worth it. My wife ordered the chicken Alfredo (which is in her top three most favorite meals) and didn't even finish her plate because it lacked flavor and was overwhelmingly plain. Not much feedback from the other guests in our party but said they would rather try a different restaurant before coming back to Louie Linguini's. The pictures throughout the restaurant was more amusing than the food or the overall experience. We finished our meal and waited around for another 5-10 minutes before the bus bit came to get some plates. Finally our waitress came back a few minutes after that to bring the check. Our drinks STILL empty. Tips are for going above and/or beyond our coming expectations of the establishments service. Those expectations were definitely not met. To the "waitress"/"cook": you're lucky those in the group felt it was an obligation to tip and left you something. I feel it all should have gone to the bus boy as he visited us more than any of you clowns. To the owners: you should visit your place if you haven't for a while, it's got some issues in customer service and food quality. Unless it doesn't matter to you because it's in a great tourism heavy location and can get away with charging crazy amounts for a pathetic excuse of a meal(s). Maybe one day we'll visit and try it again. And I hope I'll get to amend...

Located in the Cannery Row area of Monterey, Louie Linguini's has pretty tasty food and options for those who love the beach but maybe aren't into seafood. The area it’s in is beautiful, mostly by virtue of being right off the ocean, but also by the open plaza located just outside of it. Parking may be a big struggle in this area so plan ahead for that. They were able to accommodate our large party as walkins which was awesome, that’s also not to say it wasn’t busy because it was, they just had ample seating. We were seated on the outside wrap around porch so we were able to see a bit of the ocean while we ate. The menu is pretty diverse with solid appetizers and food options. On top of accommodating our dog they also have a dog menu so your dog can grab a bite with you and everyone else, another big plus (to all our fellow dog owners at least).
The service was great, they were very on top of everything from drinks, to ordering, to making sure our dog got water and a mat so it didn’t splash everywhere. For food we ordered the garlic bread, chicken fettuccine alfredo, fish and chips, and a medley for our dog. All the food came out pretty quick and hot with decent portion sizes. Starting with the garlic bread, it was great. Crunchy, salty, cheesy; a hit. The fettuccine alfredo was rich and creamy, not overly cheesy or thick from the sauce. The chicken was also good, not overpowering and mixed in very well with the rest of the meal. The fish and chips were good, but not as good as expected. The breading and fish were very light, meaning it kept falling apart every time we went for a bite, although the fries it came with were very good, crispy and light. Lastly, the dog meal was a hit. It comes as chicken placed in a bowl with wild rice and carrots and our dog vacuumed it up in just a few minutes. We went in very hungry and came out full and happy with our meal and the view.
The final verdict on Louie Linguini's is that it’s a great restaurant. Very accessible and well located among other things to do. The ability to have a diverse menu in a cannery where seafood is the baseline makes it a fantastic option for those who don’t like fish but still want to eat in the area. We would definitely be back if...
Read moreFirst, we were pumped to try this place on our vacation, and it seemed very highly recommended and like a great place. The menu also looked promising with some great options to try. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed by the entire experience. While it was easy to book the reservation on Open Table and we were seated promptly, everything went downhill quick. We waited about 10 minutes to be greeted by any waitstaff, and when our waitress arrived, she seemed totally clueless. I ordered the champagne split, and she wanted to pour it table side for me, but didn’t seem to know or understand that a split is about a glass and a half of champagne, so when she filled it completely to the brim of the glass, and said “I guess it doesn’t all fit,” I was more concerned about her spilling it all over the table than anything. We ordered kids chicken strips (the only delicious thing that arrived), the Seafood Risotto (on special) and Lemon Caper Chicken. The risotto and chicken were not prepared correctly at all! The risotto had a meager portion of all offered seafood and was chock full of what looked like frozen bulk calamari rings. The food arrived hot, but only because it had been sitting under the heat lamp, as evidenced by the skin forming on my risotto and the lemon capers chicken. The chicken arrived dry and rubbery, and drowning in some indeterminate white sauce, which tasted nothing like lemon or capers. The veggies were also overdone and mushy. Neither plate was entirely edible. To top it off, I had indicated on the reservation that we were there celebrating my birthday, and when we attempted to get the check, our waitress said we’d have to wait while they prepared my “birthday dessert.” Another 20 minutes passes with no dessert in sight, and we again attempted to get our check stating we would be grabbing dessert at the Ghirardelli around the corner. Our waitress again denied us the check and said she would check to see if the “dessert was ready.” What arrives as “dessert” was two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a lady finger cookie (obviously no prep required), and finally the check. Needless to say, unless you want to spend $60+ on some good sourdough bread, I would suggest giving this place...
