Unfortunately it was hard to walk away with any positive notes. The place was dead, staff and guests equally in attendance. My brother and I sat at the bar; we were greeted and served our first round of drinks in timely manner. Shortly thereafter we placed orders at the bar, appetizer and entrees both. The side to my entree arrived before the appetizer. The side salad seemed to offer some questions of its own... Mostly being; why are they using the same toppings for the burgers (i.e. onion rings, whole tomato slices)? The salad should easily incorporate all ingredients to a single bite, rather than committing an entire bite to just onion, tomato, cucumber, etc. Use the Kale Salad at Link & Pin as an example, which for reference has; approachable, bite sized ingredients. When the hand breaded chicken tender appetizer arrived I was disappointed to realize they had left out a staple part of the recipe (double breading the tenders). Hungry and unwilling to complain, we ate the subpar tenders. After 20 minutes had passed by I decided to order another drink, which was served easily. Moments after we requested to have our food served "to-go". About another 20 minutes had lapsed; at which point I was hungry and antsy to head home. Tab paid, I stood up in preparation to leave the restaurant, and it was clear that the bartender observed so. Her service went well until this point. We, along with all other patrons were abandoned. Our bartender went to hide in the expo nook where she probably rushed the kitchen to serve an insufficient product. It would have been nice if she could have at very least come back to the bar so I could tell her to refund us for the food that she so desperately didn't want to miss the tip from. The food came out an hour after we ordered and it came out wrong, and bad. Our bartender was bold enough to avoid a notepad when we ordered. It was a Build.Your.Own Burger so I was speculative to begin. One of their staple burgers topped with onion straws came out topped instead with fried flour and onion bits soaked in oil from the bottom of the holding pan; scraps. My burger was supposed to have onion straws, which was missed entirely. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were placed on the burger "to-go"; no surprise the toppings were soggy when I got home. Our bartender and server knew the service was below standard and neglected to inform management or offer any sort of resolution.
C'mon y'all.. that just ain't right. Tell...
Read moreFast forward 5 years. Decided to give Duckworth's another chance. The first chance they tried serving us a burnt pizza. They fixed the problem but we weren't really thrilled about waiting 40 minutes to eat. Chalked it up to a blip. Another mistake. We like their pizza so less than two weeks later we ordered online. I strongly recommend that no one ever order from this restaurant online. Went to pick up my order that was paid for in advance. When I arrived I told them my name and that I was there for a take out order. The hostess looked at the food sitting on a table and said these are not yours. Your food will be out directly. Well a few more trips of Duckworth's employees going to the kitchen and assuring me that my food was almost done and at least 15 minutes later they asked to see my order number. I showed them the number and they grabbed the Food that has been sitting on the table since I had gotten there and said this is your order. I refused to accept it and they offered to remake the order. I didn't want to wait another 20-40 minutes on my order. I asked for a refund which they said they would give me. I asked for a receipt for the refund and they told me they could not give me one but I had the word of the manager on shift that I would not be charged. Well next day I was charged and the order was marked as accepted. Next step called the manager He also told me he would refund my money but had to go thru door dash who was fighting the refund. I didn't order from a door dash website I ordered from Duckworth's website. To end the update I'm having to go thru the BBB to try to get my money back. My fault since I knew that this restaurant has horrible service and quality control practices from my experience. You don't try to serve burnt pizza and food that has been sitting at room temperature for over 15 minutes. I can assure you that I won't be writing another 5 years later update again. Food was ok. Service was lacking. Felt like they just wanted me to order eat and leave. Had to ask for small things like condiments, napkins and refills. I'm use to being ask if we'd like desert. Never happened. had our bill before we had ketchup at our table.Had to wave down a server for every refill. Food is high priced for the value. Daughter had a salad with Chicken looked like it was off the kids menu but at an adult price. Maybe 2 ounces of lettuce and 5 vegetables with an ounce of chicken cost more then I realize. Probably...
Read moreWe came in with a decent-sized party and overall left feeling a little underwhelmed.
Our waitress unfortunately messed up multiple orders at our table and the timing of service was off. Appetizers arrived with the entrées, so there was no real starter course.
On the positive side, the manager/supervisor was friendly and accommodating, switching a TV over to a baseball game for us without hesitation. We appreciated that.
As for the food, I ordered the fish and chips, and the portion was comically small (photo attached). To be clear, I had eaten a few fries before snapping the picture, but even beforehand the portion was modest. Two lonely cod fillets standing on an otherwise bare platter flanked only by a lemon wedge and a small cup of remoulade. After this I’ll go online to confirm we aren’t overfishing Cod and donate to a cause. The waitress laughed slightly when I asked about it, which did not help. She also seemed unaware that “chips” in fish and chips already means fries, which led to an odd back and forth about my side. That’s the south for you. However through the entire evening she wore the expression of someone who had seen too much and cared too little. Kind of like someone waiting for a bus in the rain. Hope you don’t miss your ride, ma’am.
Others at the table also commented that their portions felt on the lighter side for the price.
All in all, not terrible, but not somewhere I would ever rush back to…or I suppose I’d come back to in general. The service issues and portion sizes did not match general...
