We ordered a sub, hot dog, fries, and onion rings as a to-go order, so that may factor in to how things turned out for us. Our food was ready 5 minutes before it should have been, which would normally be great if you're eating in rather than picking it up at an expected time. Our food was waiting on the counter. The fries and onion rings were in styrofoam containers.
By the time my husband made it back to our hotel, not even 5 minutes down the street, the fries were the soggiest I've ever had in my life - so much so that it was as if they hadn't been fully fried to begin with. The onion rings weren't much better.
The sub - surprisingly not good for how well reviewed this place is. The bread isn't great - dry and almost like it was a bit stale. The sub looked nothing like the picture they showed online, which was appealing with a leaf of green leaf lettuce, fresh tomato and onion. This was a bit of a mess of mayo, shredded lettuce, etc. I ate maybe two bites before throwing the rest away.
Disappointed, overall. Total...
Read moreStaff here were very friendly. I'm kind of hard of hearing though and they were very quiet so I had a hard time understanding them and my wife did too even though she can hear better than me.
Food was filling, good, and quick. Not the best food in the world especially for the price, but it was good. There was a very good menu variety for a sub shop.
I also wish I had noticed the specials before ordering because the Korean spring rolls sounded amazing, but I didn't want to order more as I was already paying a bit more than I'd prefer for this kind of food. I guess I'm just giving it 4 stars because I'm cheap. But a chicken gyro, cheesesteak, 2 soft drinks and order of mozzarella sticks was $46 (with tip) which just seemed like a lot to me for something that wasn't really all that fancy. I'm not going to lie though I'd probably go back if we come back to Myrtle Beach to try some of those wing flavors or the Korean...
Read moreI’ve been dining at Mr. Sub since I was a kid. I’m nearly 40 and returned yesterday for a bite of nostalgia since the new owners took over several years ago. Vino and his wife Norma have done their best to give Myrtle Beach a wonderful place to dine. We had an Italian sub, which they were happy to cut in half for us to share. It was delicious and honestly, just as I remembered it. Vino and Norma made us feel at home and made casual conversation. It’s Ramadan so Norma was preparing their meal for the evening and it honestly smelled so good! I’d love to see a Syrian based menu here. Vino owned and operated a Chicago eatery from 1983 until he and his family moved here, I’d also love to see more of that menu available. Myrtle Beach should flood this place with love so that they are always able to stay a part of our community. Can’t wait to return and enjoy all that this lovely family-owned business...
