I was surprised by the number of Thai restaurants in Myrtle Beach and I picked this one based on its higher rating and proximity to my hotel. The name of the restaurant and pictures of their Summer rolls also allowed me to entice my traveling companion, who doesn't like spicy food and thinks Thai food is always spicy. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted from the kitchen and directed to our table. She arrived in person within a few seconds to bring our menus. I recognized most of the items on the menu, having worked at a couple of Thai restaurants in my younger days, but there were some dishes new to me. My companion ordered garlic chicken and I opted for my favorite, "Pad Kee Mow" or roughly translated to fried drunk sh-tuff. 😉 We also got the promised Summer roll with shrimp and "Tod Mun Goong", which could be explained as sort of a ground shrimp slider, minus the bun. Both were quickly served and delicious. I did notice that the patties did not have any bits of green - I have always seen chopped cilantro and sliced green beans in other restaurants' rendition of this appetizer - but it was still out of this world tasty. I make the similar app with chicken and have had it with fish, too, but only the shrimp version was offered here. The entrees were served just as we were finishing the apps. Again, both were top notch. I ordered my dish extra spicy. It was about 2/3 of my desired spiciness, but still induced a bit of runny nose and sweaty brow, so I couldn't complain. I did notice they did not use tomatoes, whereas my local Thai eateries usually include them. It didn't matter, it was still delicious! This destination was pretty easy to get to and had lots of street parking in the vicinity, at least when I was there. I would say this is one of my highest rated restaurant reviews in my whole Google food critic "career", if that is such a thing. Definitely...
Read moreMy wifey is Laotian, so, she always tries to find other Southeast Asian restaurants to eat at whenever we travel away from home. She was excited to find this Thai Lao place in Myrtle Beach! It was amazing authentic Thai food! They literally have over 82 different rice, curry, noodle, and meat dishes on their twelve page menu! Like I said, my wife is Lao, was born in Laos, and LOVED the food here! The server lady even was nice enough to bring out some Thai red hot chili peppers from the kitchen for my wife, just because she knew their sauce wasn’t truly “Lao HOT.” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 My wife loved their Laotian papaya salad, the hot red curry, & Thai coffee. I got a variant dish version of Pad Thai called Pad Kee-Mao, as well as yellow curry. My Lao wife wasn’t impressed with the fact that they included NO sticky rice with their papaya salad, (when ALL Lao people eat them both together), and had to order some separately for an extra $4, and it was a tiny amount, but, other than that, she really enjoyed everything that she ate! Loved it! I loved all the different vegetables in the chicken Pad Kee-Mao noodle dish I got, and I enjoyed the flavor of the yummy Yellow Curry as well, even though it did have a little spiciness to it, when I wanted zero, but, all the food was great, service was great, and the environment was great. It’s a typical homey little Asian restaurant. They had Thai music playing and had Thai TV on. Great place to eat! Oddly enough, it is right next to another different Thai restaurant. (This one was the little green one, the other one is the bigger red one.) We shot and included photos of their...
Read moreVery rude service. It looks like from some of the other reviews the skeletal waitress and the older one are rude to a lot of people that come to eat. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over seven years. I always brought different people in all of the time. The first instance about a year ago they served us cold soup. Asked for it to be hot . Took it back mad. Didn’t go in for a while. Tried it again, the exact same thing happened. Only openly rude and mad. I didn’t serve cold soup twice, they did. Didn’t go back for along time. My friend and I went yesterday. When both servers noticed I was there, they gave me dirty looks. The skeletal one came to take our order and started yelling at me that I had to use a number to order. Not one time in seven years have I ever ordered by the number. There was no number for the soup I ordered, but she just kept yelling. They used to be nice to me before they served me cold soup twice. I always over tipped and brought them a lot of business I hope the owner will get rid of them so a bunch of customers...
