Went in for a soft serve ice cream. The server seemed annoyed she had to work, the ice cream in the machine wasn't ready, and she kept getting the order wrong. Large twist with chocolate sprinkles, how hard can it be?

I had to remind her to put the sprinkles on because she handed me a naked cone. She then dumped a tiny spoonful of sprinkles over the cone with disdain. My wife got the same belligerent service. When I paid for the order there was an extra $1.62 charge for a dipped cone, for which I didn't really get the explanation, something about the system not being updated. On top of all that, the ice cream was mealy, gritty, not at all creamy. I've had better ice cream for less at McDonald's. No "thank you", no "have a nice evening", no "enjoy your ice cream" from the server. A very unpleasant experience.

So then why two stars instead of one? The girl in the hard ice cream and Italian ice side of the shop was friendly and pleasant to deal with. The Italian ices and scoop ice cream looked like exceptional quality with a good variety of flavors and we wondered if we should have gone with one of those as we strolled the boardwalk and had nicer help getting it. I also found a mesh-backed lay down ball cap of the style I really like in the sweltering SC summers for a very reasonable price, which I bought with the ice cream. I fed the last of my cone to the stray cats that live between the yachtsman and Pier 14....

What a disappointment this year - we visit Myrtle every year and always go here to this cute ice cream shop for soft serve. The service we received this year from the Puerto Rican lady as cashier was too rude and unfortunately we won’t be back. She gave us an attitude saying she can’t serve soft serve in a cone when every other year we have gone we got the same. Then when she made the soft serve she acted like we were interrupting her and it was such a hard task. Then payment time came and the credit card machine was acting up and so we paid with dollar coins and she was so confused. We were done at that point. I realize she doesn’t love her job but a little politeness and service go a long way for tips.

employees are super rude. went mid-day on August 7th and the black guy working the ice cream bar had an attitude with us. They were out of the flavor I asked for, but instead of telling me that, he just gave me the one next to it and tried to convince me that it was the same thing. I pointed out that they were obviously completely different, and he said "it's just a different kind." I politely gave it back to him and said I'd just pick something else. I was looking at the other flavors and he said "so what are you doing?" really rudely. I told him I was looking, and he said "well hurry up." We decided to just leave and go somewhere else (the ice cream shop/window next to this one is great, and has way more flavors to choose...
