We wondered why there were so many open tables here when ALL other restaurants had a minimum wait of 1 hour. We found out why in less than 30 minutes. Our waitress was terrific, she tried to address the issues but she was not the cook. We ordered chips and queso first. The chips were stale tasting so we asked for a different order. Our wait waitress stated that the chips were made fresh there and she went to bring us a fresh order of them. No, the next order was just as bad. She stopped by and asked about them and we told her they were stale also. She left and came back with a third order of chips, this time they were actually crisp and tasted very good. The queso was not even warm enough to dip a chip into, it was so cold that the chips would break off trying to get the queso out of the bowl, we had to use a spoon to scoop out the queso and put it on the chips. Next came our food. I ordered spicy shrimp and grits, my wife ordered the chicken rice bowl and my buddy order the ribs and rice bowl. As you can see if you look at my Google profile, we travel and eat out at a lot of places. This restaurant is absolutely in the top 5 worst places that we have visited. My shrimp and grits were barley warm (temperature) the shrimp was just like the chips, tasted like they had been cooked days ago and then put in the microwave to warm up and serve, except they were not very warm. The Grits were like eating a cold greasy paste. I really tried to find a good quality in the food, nothing about it was good. I ate 4 of the shrimp and about 6 small bites of the grits. My wife's chicken and rice was flavorless and cold also, same with my buddies ribs and rice, he poured soy sauce over it to help with the flavor. Absolutely the worst $46 I have ever spent on a meal. Again, the waitress was doing all she could to help but she was not the one that did not prepare the food correctly. This place will not last. Contrary to the sign out front, this is NOT quality food. We should have stayed at the Stillery, 2...
Read moreI left feeling like I wouldn't eat for a week! This is in part because they really fill you up, and in part because how can you follow up food that good with anything else? It just was SO good!! I say food because though it is a chicken place, they do not neglect the rest of the menu! Although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, if you are wanting recommendations may I suggest:
'not-so-mild' dark chicken Fried okra Pepper jack Mac
Chicken was perfectly seasoned and so tender, the Mac was cheesy and had the perfect amount of kick, and the okra, well, was fried okra. Can't go wrong there.
I haven't even gotten to the location yet - the MC Chicken Co. Is perfectly situated just steps from Nashville's center of gravity (Broadway), and a block or two off the water, so perfect to walk to and close enough to the action to be a part of it but enough removed so that you don't feel like you can't hear yourself think.
All in all worth stopping, worth the price, and...
Read moreI'll start saying that the food is OK. Places is clean, food looks fresh. I order the daddy burger (just a double burger) with fried jalapeños, side of onion rings And 1 cocktail with Mezcal.
For the price I was expecting a lot. At least something different that will stand out from other burger joints. But to my disappointment, it was just another burger nothing different and I feel I paid a lot. I rather eat at five guys, for the price I think it taste even better.
The onion rings were really thin, so basically I ate just the battered because it didn't taste as onions.
And the cocktail, well I know alcohol is expensive and more in downtown but didn't taste like Mezcal at all, just a glass with too much ice and a cherry.
Anyways again, the food is not bad, it is just plain, nothing different, if you are really hungry and cannot find a place maybe, but I am not coming...
