What a disappointing experience.
To start, we ordered the meatball appetizer. Taste was good but wow, the portion was tiny. The waitress didn't bring any bread until we asked for it, which was after the appetizer was delivered. We were discussing whether or not to get some cheese for the olive oil that was served with the bread. The waitress walked away without addressing this. We asked one of the other servers for some cheese; the request was acknowledged but the cheese was never delivered.
The meals were then delivered. My husband ordered the filet - requested that it be medium. He also added marsala sauce ($3.99!!!). The filet was so undercooked that it was purple in the middle. Definitely rare. Unfortunately, the waitress never returned so he could not ask that it be cooked more fully. He ate around the outside, leaving the raw middle on the plate to take home to our dogs. The filet included two sides. One of the sides he chose was the asparagus, which was cold, and this cost an additional $2.50 for this upgraded side. Again, we couldn't address it with the waitress since she was nowhere to be found. The other "included" side was spinach, for an additional $1.00. So, the two "included" sides cost an additional $3.50 and one of them was too cold to enjoy.
Once we finished eating what we could of the meal the waitress finally returned. My husband addressed the issues with her, and her response? Oh, the kitchen is a hot mess. Seriously! That was it. I ordered the Grilled chicken, which was served lukewarm. I wish I had taken some pictures of the size of the chicken portion. Laughable. I added the "included" side - fettuccine alfredo - for an additional $2.50. It was good, thankfully. Of the six "included" side dish options, only two are actually included without an upcharge - the garlic mashed and the penne Pomodoro. So be aware! We each had a glass of Apothic Red Blend - $33.38 for the two glasses. Crazy.
So - all this being said - I understand our economy is in horrible shape. However, for the price of this meal ($119.33) we expected a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the service was horrendous and the food was completely unacceptable. We could accept the prices if the food and service was good, but there was truly nothing good about this meal.
I hate writing a review like this, but since we couldn't speak to a manager, we opted to write a review. And just for awareness, we are always happy to tell a manager when we receive great service and food. This was just not one of...
Read moreI am basing my rating on the service and not particularly the food. The food was closer to 4 stars.
The service however, was awful. I realize they were short staffed. I even understand the staff that was present being stressed. I do blame them for taking those feelings out on the customers.
The food service was about average. We got our food timely, didn't have to wait excessively for drink refills. The problem was in the lack of care. The server wasn't glad we were there and it showed.
Being vegetarian I ordered the minestrone soup. Being vegetarian I end up having to order that a lot when I eat out. I'm familiar with it.
Anyway the soup arrives and instead of tomato broth with pasta it's clear with cabbage. I ask what the soup is and am told "minestrone" as the server walks off. M'kay I don't think so. Someone else at my table had ordered soup and hadn't gotten it yet so I wait to make sure.
The other soup comes out and it is clear with chicken so definitely not my soup and this cabbage stuff appears to be vegetarian so I can eat it but incase I ask about the soup again and am told again it is minestrone.
Later as the server is filling the drinks I ask for a 3rd time about the soup and explain it doesn't look or taste like any minestrone I've had. I get dismissed with "yes it's minestrone". Whatever the soup is quite good and other than the broth seems to be vegetarian. I looked it up later and it appears to be a variation of cabbage stew.
Ending our visit the server brings the ticket and walks off. The receipt has the "contact free" payment options and since our server doesn't seem to be returning I download the app and try to pay online for about 20 minutes before chasing the server down because now my party is running late for a concert just to be told that the app doesn't work.
I mean, I don't care about the app but why not tell us that in advance? Why not check back with us when we haven't paid? Why make me chase you down to pay for our meal? I apologize that visiting your establishment was such an...
Read moreMy family and I went to dinner here tonight. I’ve always enjoyed Carrabba’s food and was disappointed when the one in my home town of Montgomery closed up. Since I frequent Nashville often, I like to get my Carrabba’s fix when I’m in town. We arrived a little later than most folks for dinner, around 7:30. They were busy but since many were finishing up, we were seated within 10 min. At first I thought the evening may be a bust when our waiter told us he had to be the bearer of bad news that they were out of bread. I understood but was extremely disappointed though later would be made up for as they improvised with other available bread which was just as good, hot and delicious. I started with the mama cicilia’s soup which was just the right temperature and flavorful, with just the right spicy kick. For dinner, I went with my “go to” dish of the Pollo Rosa Maria. I inadvertently chose the wrong side and ordered the pasta instead of my favorite garlic mashed potatoes. The pasta was good but I did miss my potatoes, but it was my fault for not paying attention when asked about my side. As usual, the food was delicious for everyone in my party but I have to give a special shout out to our waiter who went by “Chubby”. Yes, I confirmed his name as I thought I heard wrong. Our waiter was extremely busy waiting on several tables but each time he came by he was very polite, cheerful, made good conversation and had a great smile and friendly attitude. I would recommend this Carrabba’s to anyone in the area and especially recommend our great waiter “Chubby” for making us feel at home and giving us a pleasant...
