I been here a few times but most recently I had bad service. They only accept cash anytime I go there the credit card machine is broken. My 1st option is always a fresh juice but this time it was 2 different colors. I’ve had really amazing juices from here in the past but this time I can taste the flavor of the juice was far too zesty and sour. For being an experienced juicer myself I understood that it’s real juice with no preservatives but when I told the lady who took my juice order that it wasn’t good she literally brings me the another cup tasting the same exact way within less than 30 seconds. When they took my food order I explained to the waitress about my juice and she continued to explain how the kitchen just made it right in front of her eyes and told me that the oranges are just bad. I liked the very large banana pecan pancake a lot that my wife and I had along with the chicken avocado burrito it was okay that’s why I added star. The looks I got from the servers since I walked in wasn’t polite. When paying for the food they ALL looked at us bad as if I wasn’t going to pay. Without questions I was charged and gladly paid $85 total meaning I had to not only pay for the two juices I complained about but also the 3rd juice they voluntarily gave me that I also told them was too zesty as she just walked away. The entire time the kitchen was really loud and obnoxious without a care of what was my concern with the bad juice. This place is a hit or miss because I do believe they could do an amazing job if they wanted to. I didn’t walk out of here happy nor did I feel satisfied. I felt flabbergasted at how bad the juice tasted and I was charged and treated by the host of the restaurant and by the 1st server who took us to our table. As for the waitress who served my food I thank her for her being the only one there that was a little kind just enough for me to not get overwhelmed about my zesty sour juice. I’ve been eating here and drinking their juices for 8 years and I’ve been making my own juices at home since I was a child they have good potential I’m sure of it idk what happened now. I hope this review can help enhance the host and servers kindness and overall professionalism for the next guests. I also hope this review will help encourage the experience in fresh good taste for...
Read moreLet me get straight to it. The 4.7 Stars you see on the reviews is in fact 100% accurate. I learned of this restaurant through an impromptu post from a blogger. As a local, I have passed this place at least 1000 times. Strangely I would see the funky, colorful entrance but didn't really know what it was. I am so ecstatic to have read the bloggers story. Within 24 hours, I was there and had a seat.
My standard protocol is to review restaurant menus prior to dining. But in this case I trusted all that I had read. Now to the food.
Food - Crabmeat (REAL LOCAL LOUISIANA CRAB MEAT) Omelette w/Avocado wrapped inside (not mushy either), Crabmeat sauce with the best biscuit I've ever had. The biscuit was large and its presentation appeared very dense and I thought, oh no it's going to be really dry. Suffice to say, I was wrong. It was fluffy and airy. Many times eggs served in restaurants need a bit of salt/ pepper, nothing was needed as the Crabmeat sauce provided all the additional spice needed.
Beverage - Coffee. This was not some watered down version of coffee. I'm not 100% sure what they use, but what I will say is that it's very good coffee. And it is strong.
Service - Craig (I think that was his name) was cordial, professional with a wonderful disposition. When you're serving such goodness, it has to be hard to be in a bad mood. You guys rock and I will be back.
Ambiance - It's been covered a thousand times in other reviews, I'll spare you, you've been here long enough. 😂
This was a fun outing and I am certain I'll be bringing family and friends for quite a while....
Read moreNestled in a cozy corner of the city, this breakfast joint boasts exceptional food and attentive service, but falls short in terms of cleanliness.
Let's start with the positives: the shrimp and grits were absolutely phenomenal. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the creamy texture of the grits was just sublime. The chorizo egg scramble also hit the spot, offering a satisfying combination of spices and savory goodness.
Even for someone who isn't typically a fan of biscuits, I must admit that theirs was moist and paired perfectly with the accompanying apple jam. It's evident that the chef pays careful attention to flavor profiles and presentation.
However, the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. Dust and dirt seemed to have made a permanent home in the corners, and the single-stall restroom was downright disgusting. It's a shame that such excellent food is overshadowed by these hygiene issues.
Another drawback is the limited seating capacity. With space for only about 20 people, it's easy to see why the wait times can be lengthy, especially during peak hours.
In conclusion, while this breakfast spot excels in food quality and service, there's a clear need for improvement in terms of cleanliness and hygiene. If you can overlook the filth, you'll be treated to a culinary experience that's truly out...
