First time coming here from Delaware with my twin sister to celebrate Mardi Gras. Came here for a hurricane. A guy there talked us up and offered shots. Thought he was buying them. He pulled out his own alcohol. Knowing there wasn't outside drinks allowed he got caught. But one of the bartenders saw him. When I asked for two shots from the bartender he was completely rude, assuming we were with the gentlemen instead of being professional. I called multiple times at first thinking he couldn't hear me. Only to realize he was being intentionally rude. As I said hello, he said "go home". And I tried to get another bartender's attention but they all ignored me. Why assume we're with someone because they asked us where we're from? Just all around messy. The only thing that made me smile was when I told the door man his bartenders were rude he said " tell me something I don't know, I already knew that". I chuckled with him. But seriously be professional next time. And stop assuming everyone is with someone. We were actually trying to be good patrons and tip small businesses well.

Tropical Isle was a blast! Before coming to New Orleans, it was recommended to me by co-workers, and it surely did not disappoint! The first afternoon I went, they had a great deal on their IPA, which I had never heard of but tasted great! I met a lot of cool people and interesting characters as well, to include a couple making out right next to me. Usually I wouldn’t have been into this kind of behavior, but I was in New Orleans on vacation, so I guess it kind of comes with the territory. Lol. The second night I went, I opted for the infamous Hand Grenades, which were pretty good, but did mess my stomach up a little bit, so I quit after two. However, they had an awesome live band, which played some songs that I hadn’t heard in bars in years. Finally, I loved the vibe and atmosphere - it completely leaned into the craziness of New Orleans. 5/5, must stop by if in The Big Easy!

There are no superlatives to describe this drink - it has to be experienced first hand. We ordered the frozen variant. I had relatively low expectations but from the first sip it blew me away. The top secret formula of a myriad of spirits and liqueurs laced with a sugary kick combine for a flavour explosion. A guaranteed headache - it will leave you ducking for cover the next morning. Labeled as the most powerful drink in New Orleans it certainly packs a punch - if you drink these all night there’s a high possibility you could wake up in Mexico! The bar staff here were really friendly. And took a photo of us in front of the large smoking grenade. Walking down Bourbon Street drinking one of these fellas is a must do experience. You haven’t been to NOLA unless you’ve had a few of these!

Went here for my birthday. Brought my wife here for her first time ever to Bourbon street. When we arrived, we had to show our IDs. My wife and I have the new Texas Driver license that was released mid August. The “security” person saw our new DLs and could not compute the design or authentication of our new DLs. It got to the point where he did not believe our formal government issued license or us when we tried telling him we just got them recently and that Texas issued a new license format. I even pulled up the documents online stating the updated format of DLs in Texas. After not believing us not our documentation, he made us stand there as he asked EACH OTHER member of the bar about our DL. All the other members of the bar did not even bat an eye at us or give us any assistance. After a couple minutes of not being let into this place, the security person grabs his little flash light and checks the authentication of both of our DLs. He continued to check the DLs and flashing his light one little spot on my DL and mentions how cool the license is since it lights up red. He honestly looked highly under the influence of weed. Not once did we get an apology for the delay and no entry or a comp for not believe my OFFICIAL DL from a neighboring state. We then get into this place and the bartender has a mouth full of food and cannot communicate with me since he’s eating…not so sanitary. Same bartender forgot to give us half our order of drinks… the other bartender was flat out rude and disrespectful. Some of the worst customer service I think I’ve ever seen. Extremely disappointing as this was for my birthday…

EDUCATE YOUR SECURITY TEAM...

(Referring to manager STEPHANIE). Sad to say that I’m rating this a 1. I lovedddd Tropical Isle, every single time that I have traveled to New Orleans, Tropical Isle is my place. On October 11th, I was out with family & friends, celebrating my 30th birthday. We went to one of the Tropical Isle on Bourbon (don’t have the exact address). I understand that this is a bar that makes lots of money & doesn’t really work on customer Service. My friends and I were asked what we wanted by bartender Stephanie. She took our order and continued to take other customers order. Never served us but served others. I grabbed her attention again and informed her that we were waiting for 30mins for our drinks.. she got angry and told us that she had served us, which wasn’t true. I told her why she had an attitude & that I wanted to speak with the manager. She told me she was the manager. I am writing this out, in hopes that the owner/ or who ever manages her is aware that this happened. After all this happened, she made our drinks (we still hadn’t paid her, thank God) and she told me “here, now you can shutup”. I yelled & told her I would be back tomorrow to speak with her manager & she threw all of our drinks in the garbage. After this, we stayed in Nola for 3 more days & never stepped foot in Tropical Isle & it was 7 of us FYI. Great way...
