Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in New Philadelphia

So this review should be called a tale of 2 subs. The first was fairly pleasing the second wasn't edible. Both times I got the cheesesteak so I can't review the other subs. The first sub was pretty delicious. Alot of tender moist "steak" a good amount of cheese and caramelized onions and peppers which were cooked till tender. All in all a solid sandwich 8 outta 10. Then to sandwich 2. Firstly upon opening the sub about half the meat wasn't even in the bread. But that I can live with. First bite and was immediately greeted to a huge price of mystery gristle. OK, rocky start but we will keep rolling. Second bite all peppers and onions. Both of which were completely raw. No char no grill flavor just straight raw peppers and onions. Third bite was just as dismal as the first 2 and included an onion skin. Somone was too lazy to even skin the onion. I had enough. Threw it away and wont be looking back. Well you may say if the first one was good why such a low star count. Well, I can explain that with this. These subs ain't exactly cheap. They run around 15 bucks and I as a customer deserve a little more consistency than 50 50. Their are 2 perfectly good restaurants that flank jersey Mike's to either side. That can deliver a more consistent product at a more reasonable price point. Maybe I will try it again in the future. But for now I'm more than content with chipotle and el san jose.

UPDATE to 2022

Since taking a break I've been back few more times and every time has been extremely good. The crew is attentive and polite snd the atmosphere seems like it has alot more positive energy to it. Subs are extremely consistent. I can now happily say this is a dang fine sub shop. That I look forward...

My first time ever stopping in because I wanted to try something new, and we don’t have a jersey mikes in the town i live in. I walked in and smiled at them and said hi, no response. I wasn’t welcomed when i first entered..not even a smile.. and they were already very short and snippy. I wanted an italian sub, but i wanted the ham off of it and the young girl had told me that there was barely gonna be any meat on it with just the salami and pepperoni, so i asked for double meat and she acted like it was such an inconvenience to do that for me bc it wasn’t a “menu option” I will say she gave me a good amount of meat on it though, when i was adding my toppings..again very snippy and i asked for banana peppers and she put like 5 on there and i had to ask for more?.. like cmon. I was NOT impressed with the customer service AT ALL very very rude girls in there, super snippy, and you can very clearly tell they did not want to be there.. they looked miserable. Ruined my whole mood, then it asked if i wanted to tip haha HELL NO. I walked out in a completely different mood than when i walked in and i won’t be back, i’ll go to a different location...

When Jersey Mike's came to New Phila we were excited to try it! In the beginning it was wonderful! However the last couple times have been not good at all!!!! We ordered online for pickup. When my husband got to the restaurant not one person acknowledged him. He finally asked the guy just standing around of he could just grab his sub. The guy said sure. Umm how did he know who's order we got? When I opened the sub....now mind you I've just paid $17.80 for a giant sub with extra cheese on rosemary parm bread to find white bread and definitely not extra cheese! I called the restaurant immediately the first guy that answered the phone said he was doing 20 things so he gave the phone to a woman. I explained how the bread was wrong. Without hesitation she told me the speciality bread isn't always available so they use whit as a substitute. However that isn't on the website! Well....I was NEVER told I wouldn't get what i paid for! So Jersey Mike's New Phila this is the last of my hard earned money you...
