Update: we still never got an apology nor did anyone reach out to us regarding how we were treated.
My husband and I went here to watch a game a couple of weeks ago. Our experience here was absolutely horrible, to say the least.
Their menu clearly states that outside food is welcome as long as you order here as well. We ordered a couple of sodas and snacks. During half time we walked by to the 711 store close by and grabbed some coffee.
Upon coming back here the owner/manager who was standing outside looked at us and loudly said âwe have coffee here you should have ordered it from usâ my husband instantly apologized and said sorry we will order from here too.
The owner/manager replied back to our apology in a rude tone saying âyou have to think of small businesses, if you want coffee then you order it from usâ
Once again my husband apologized. I said sorry too. We told him again weâll order coffee. We told him weâll dispose what we got from 711. We accepted that it was insensitive of us to have bought it.
He then extremely rudely yelled âif you want coffee from 711 then go watch the game at 711â. We were shocked at hearing him say this.
We apologized and kept our coffee away and ordered more food. He gave us the cold shoulder throughout the rest of the game. We felt extremely hurt to be treated and spoken to this way. It was a terrible feeling and we obviously didnât enjoy the remaining half of the match. Neither of us could believe how we had just been spoken to. It was rattling.
This guy was the rudest guy we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Keep in mind this happened in front of everyone sitting there. It was beyond humiliating to be spoken to like that despite apologizing three times.
Good bye and good riddance to this place. We will never be...
Read more25 years in hospitality and I have a lot to say about pretty much every restaurant I visit. Unfortunately for this review Smithreens left me speechless for many parts of my experience.
Firstly, if youâre walking down 9th Street donât feel stupid about looking for the location. Things like this should be slightly hidden and itâs on the south southside of the block. But when you walk in, theyâre happy to take your jacket in the middle of the winter. Itâs really nice to have that level of hospitality in a place that seems so casual.
Upon being seated by the most friendly people at the door, you see a menu that is simple and straightforward. Why would I not want white wine with an all seafood menu and if I wanted something a little bit more thereâs a ânot white wineâ section.
The menu was clear, cut and directed and you think you know exactly what you are ordering a little citrus a little salad a little fish. But everything comes with surprises.
Try a crudo, try a thing youâve never had before. Try a thing you hate because the chef here couldnât care less about what things could be, but about things should be. Everything is delicious. Everything has a surprise. Everything leaves you speechless and I know a lot of people donât talk about the service, but my server was warm had things to say and was intelligent.
My biggest regret is not ordering the special hand written on the menu. But as I tell my wife, âIâll do...
Read moreI wish I could this place zero stars. I walked in a Saturday night and could barely get the bartenders attention and when I did I got two Coronas and I didn't tip because he was so mad about opening two drinks so when I closed out he goes "this will be the last beer you get". Two hours later I try to order another beer and he goes "you're not allowed to order a beer because you didn't tip me the list time" and got me and my friend who I was getting a beer for kicked out of the bar as he was calling me fat and ugly and that's why the establishment didn't want to serve me. The bouncer was a sweetheart and didn't understand why he was being prompted to kick us out and as I asked for his name, he said "there's only one fat guy with dark brown hair as a bartender on Saturday" so my favorite bar is no longer because of a fat guy who can't accept he's...
