I think this is worth trying for the NY deli sandwich experience. I went and grabbed a take out corned beef sandwich - should have paid the extra dollar for pastrami just to go for the classic since this is more of an experience/name recognition stop. The sandwich was good, but didn’t win any awards in my book. Plus, it was quite messy, especially since I did take-out. I ate it at my hotel less than a block away, so not too much time for the bread to get too soggy. I’m glad they gave me utensils and plenty of napkins because I needed them to eat all that meaty goodness that fell out of the sandwich and all over my hands. Not the original Katz obviously, but the DeKalb Market Town hall is really cool. Reminiscent of one of my other favorite food halls - Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

Had to come to Katz, we ordered the pastrami, pickles, and cheesecake. Loved the experience watching our sandwich get slices, the slicer gave us a sample to eat while watching, nice brief engagement. I will say for someone from out of town I found the experience a little confusing with the ticket then having to go to different counters for the sandwich, then drink, then dessert, then to pay. Was a little embarrassed walking up asking for multiple things, everyone was nice about it but would have liked to know what I was doing. Pastrami was really juicy and tender, mustard was a must; great compliment. Bread didn’t hold up well to the weight and moisture. Pickles were ok, nothing special in my opinion. The cheesecake though, THAT would bring me back; so so so good!

They are located in the basement of the City Point mall along with a bunch of other foodie spots. I Ordered a steaming hot Pastrami on Rye made fatty with deli mustard. They also gave me a nice helping of pickles and container of more deli mustard. Got there around 2 pm, no line and very friendly service by the woman at the cashier. She acknowledged I was friendly too and knew I must be from out of town, LOL. The sandwich is expensive but worth it since I'm not in NYC often and the quality of pastrami with the fatty cuts are the best I've had. Watching the cutters slice the meat and lay it out on the bread like a spread out deck of cards was satisfying. Since it was around the corner from my hotel it was easier for me to go here than the regular spot.

Katz's Deli Gift Packages I remember going to Katz's Deli since as a child with my grandparents. The smell of the pickles and the food made you drool before you even sat down. Forward many many years later, I have beenfortunate enough to receive at least two gift packages from my brother for me and my daughter. I have also sent gift packages to dear friends as a very special gift. Katz's Deli offers different packages with classic Jewish offerings. I have had their matzo ball soup which will cure anything from the common cold to the flu.The matzo balls are fluffy and flavorful. My daughter even liked them better than mine. The pastrami was wonderful. Sliced perfectly against the grain, thick and flavorful, makes the perfect sandwich topped with the epic mustard from the deli. The pickles were amazing. Crunchy and boosting that perfect sour flavor are the perfect compliment to the luscious pastrami. The knishes are so tasty and filling. Baked to a crisp crust, they are just fantastic. And of course you must have dessert. The babka was just outstanding. Layers of flaky pastry with chocolate swirls were just melt in your mouth deliciousness. I also loved the apron that comes in this gift package. I have sent gift packages and the tee shirts are wonderful.Any gift package that you order from Katz's Deli comes straight from Kat's Deli. They do not go through any 3rd party organization.

When a company has been in business since 1888, there are many reasons. Location to a community that services their type of cuisine is very important. Secondly the food must be superb and consistently superb, which of course is Katz's Deli. And lastly it must have wonderful customer service. This is Katz's Deli to the max. They go to the sky to make sure every order is perfect and if not, correct it without hesitation. This is how Katz's Deli has been around since 1888 and I hope for many many more...

Hello All, I am written this review about one of my experience on May 8, 2024. For the record I am still in shock and disbelief. Ok, so on this date I had picked up my daughter from college in New York and wanted to her to experience the corned beef as well as the pastrami sandwich. Unfortunately we our sandwich had way too much fat and we were unable to eat it. This was not the case with my first time but I do understand that mistakes happen. I was too far away to complain at that time so I sent them an email. Now for the shock!! I received a call from Mgr. Wilson, less than an hour after my email and was refunded less then 5 minutes after talking to him. Listen I know how great the food and the service is and did not expect nor did I ask for a refund. I just wanted to let them know but I was completely blown away with him and the company. I made it clear that I understand that things happen and I would still come back and buy from them. He was the nicest manger that I have ever talked too and I could tell how much he cares. I just want to say thank you, and I will be back when I am in New York. This is how you should be treated but it is not always the case with a lot of places. Katz cares and they do stand on principle. The funny thing is I got a $35 parking ticket (my own fault) but did not care because The food is...

Growing up in NYC, I have never been to @katzsdeli - like I never even wanted to either and even now, I can’t say I want to but I would like to try it if I can. I didn’t know @dekalbmarkethallofficial had a Katz outpost, and since there was no line, it was our chance to try it. . But my jaw dropped when I saw the price tag, it was $28.95 for the whole sandwich. Ive heard the sandwiches were also massive.. . They gave us a free sample while waiting for our order and the pieces were fatty and also hot (not burning hot). It was very good… . When the sandwich finally arrived, I was a bit disappointed in the portion. It’s big for one person but to share, I can’t say it was a lot of meat. As you can see, it’s not really 2 of the same half portions. . The sandwich was indeed really good. It really needs the mustard though. Without it, it wasn’t as good IMO. It was tender, juicy, but not as fatty as I would have liked. The sample was different from the actual sandwich. Chun picked up the order while I was holding the table so I can’t say it was the same cut. It comes with a whole pickle. It was hard to bite into, spears would have been better. . Oh, gotta get cherry cola, it’s the only time I drink cherry cola…. . This is based on my experience at the dekalb location. I don’t know how it compares to their...
