Came here for drinks early on a Friday evening and found it almost completely empty. The space is small, but is comfortable and has a cool vibe. We enjoyed all the cocktails we tried, and the service was friendly. I especially enjoyed my corn whiskey cocktail. When we left around 6:30, there was only one other group present. This is a good spot to stop in for a well-made cocktail in a hotel bar that feels a bit more comfortable than the typical option.

Second floor of the Freehand Hotel, cool vintage characteristics but hip and well attended. Diverse crowd, not too loud or club-like. Not too quiet and boring. Great place to start an evening or meet for a date. Had the Prickly Pear and it was sooo good. Bartender described it as a watermelon basil salad and I was sold. Would definitely have that again! Can stay in the bar or go to the open lighter lobby type area which is also cool. Nice bartenders.

My fiancé and I ended up sneaking into this lovely bar late on Christmas Eve, and the amazing mixologist bartender Alex was really great and helped us pick out the right drinks for our picky pallets. The menu is incredibly intricate and very exciting if you’re an adventurous drinker or just like trying new things! The atmosphere is very warm and was just what we needed after a way below freezing day in the city. Thanks again for everything!

Darkness settling on Gotham. Pre-drink at Calico, minkish doorgirl usher to coathangers, six-foot paper lanterns in the Noguchi style, Saguaro cactus and cow skull the bar's centerpiece, Southwest Indian patterns on the rugs and upholstery, a little touch of kitsch in the yarn-bound paper menu listing cocktails inspired by the marriage of Al Stieglietz and Georgia O'Keefe: The O'Keefe Sour (lairds, mizu barley sochu, black apricot tea, maple, lemon, egg white), Machu Pichu (pisco barsol, midori, aloe vera, citrus, mint), Desert Water (Doce mezcal, italicus, basil, cactus juice), Opposites Attract (Harridan vodka, nixta, Mr. Black coffee liqueur, fernet menta, egg white, dark chocolate, corn), Tomatillo Margarita (herradura, ancho verde, tajin, tomatillo, salt), Savage Detective (Cardenxe de la Sierra, tepache, pineapple), a dozen others. I order the Prickly Pear, with Elyx vodka, basil eau de vie, lime, orgeat, and egg white, then wonder if it's too feminine a selection, compared to the vermouth and soda of...

We hosted a 100-person welcome event to kickoff our wedding weekend at Bar Calico. Kaitlin & the Bar Calico team are rockstars and were service-focused throughout the whole process. Kaitlin took all our ideas in stride, delivered on her word, gave accurate projections when planning, made our vision happen, and couldn’t have been easier to work with.

Everyone raved about the space’s vibe, service, food and cocktails. Alex and the bar team are true mixologists and take pride in each cocktail. The whole experience left us super impressed and feeling great about everything from...

Went to this bar Thursday October 17 with friends around 9:30pm, ordered a glass of white wine, service was not friendly at all and wine tasted terribly sour. Paid for it and went home. My friends stayed for another round and witnessed the bartender pouring the white wine from some glasses back into the bottle. A disturbing, disgusting and unsanitary practice to say the least. No phone numbers to contact them, just an email address on the website, to which I am yet to receive a reply, a whole week...
