I usually go here before class to get a coffee and granola bar. Today I went and got a big hot daydream latte and asked if they can make it less sweet cus I usually just drink my coffee black but wanted to try something new. The guy ringing me up was very sweet but I guess he put the drink order in wrong which is fine it happens. The girl working bar made a small daydream latte. I asked if it was mine and it was and retold her that I ordered a large. She looked at me and was like “well that’s what you ordered so I’m not giving you a bigger drink unless you pay for it.” I think at a coffee shop if an order is rung up wrong it should be remade correctly regardless but I don’t feel like fighting it, I get it, no problem. However I asked if it was less sweet and she said no to which I responded okay I ordered it less sweet. She then basically says “how would I know that if it’s not indicated on the cup, this is what you ordered”. Which, she’s right she wouldn’t know but if I’m telling you the order is not what I ordered then obviously it was rung up wrong. I had to ask her to remake it bc she was doing everything in her power not to. She took a deep breath, dumped it in the sink and immediately asked the worker on register to cover her after she remakes the drink cus she needed a break. I totally understand being overwhelmed when you’re busy especially while taking mobile orders on top of in person orders but I do think arguing with the customer who’s order was put in wrong all cus you don’t want to remake the drink is unnecessary and more time consuming than just...
Read moreI recently visited Blank Street Coffee and ordered an iced latte. Unfortunately, they had run out of regular milk, and while I understand that substitutions can happen, I was okay with half and half as - substitution came with an extra charge.
When I received my drink, it was filled almost entirely with half and half, which was way too much for my taste. When I pointed this out, the staff member insisted that this was what I ordered, but I was under the impression that a large latte would contain a balanced amount of milk. Instead, it tasted more like flavored milk than a proper latte. I was told no changes can be made and if I’d like another drink I must make a new order.
It was frustrating to feel dismissed in front of other customers. If I had known the half and half would fill the entire cup, I would have chosen a different option. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I hope they can improve their communication and drink preparation...
Read moreI'm still disappointed about my terrible experience at this coffee shop! I waited for over 12 minutes, only to be ignored and left without my coffee. I was really frustrated that they didn't have the decency to ask me when I waited patiently while they took care of all the customers before and after me. When I finally asked, 'Where is my coffee?' after waiting for so long, the barista didn't know what the issue with my order was. Instead, they continued making coffee for other customers' orders, which were placed after mine, and handed to them in front of me as I continued to wait. The barista didn't even have the decency to apologize or explain the delay. As a frequent customer, I've consistently loved their coffee and shown my appreciation by adding generous tips with my order.
