Growing up in LA, I couldn’t understand the hype around bagels. Yeah, they’re good, but amazing?! Life-changing? A must have? They never hit me like that…
Until a magical being recommended @blackseedbagels 🖤 Being in the mecca for bagels (NYC), I figured I should give this place a try and it did not. disappoint. While I don’t have a standard for these glutenous lil delights, I know that these are GOOD! Their bagels are made fresh daily, they have so many options and their coffee is equally as great.
Today, I ordered the Fall special (whitefish salad with green tomatoes) and a chai latte (a MUST if you love chai). The salad was creamy, crunchy, and all the things you would want in a medley like this - think chicken, or tuna, salad with the fixings. The green tomatoes added a much needed extra crunch to the softness of the bagel and salad. I make sure to stop by this place every NY trip that I’m staying in the NOMAD area and I recommend you should as well.
SAVE this post for your next visit to NY when you’re craving some good bagels & coffee ✨

Read moreI’m trying to appreciate the little things in life more, and one thing I will miss dearly when I leave New York is my Saturday morning Bacon Egg & Cheese at Black Seed Bagel with my big bro. It’s our little weekend ritual.
Whether it’s debriefing a night out, having a heavy heart to heart, or reminiscing on memories from a past life, we have our best conversations over a Bacon Egg & Cheese and a small coffee.
For full transparency, I get it with no cheese and add avocado on an everything bagel, and drizzle some of the Zabbs hot sauce on there. Cheese first thing in the morning just doesn’t sit well with me. I know that is an unpopular opinion, but I can only be myself in this life.
What sets Black Seed apart for me is the bacon. It tastes and smells like real, home cooked bacon. The type of bacon that my sister in law cooks for our family on a Sunday morning when I’m back home. I have no real knowledge on this, but their bacon just hits different.
It’s these little saturday morning moments in life that I think will matter the most when I get to heaven's gates.

Read moreOrdered the bagels through Uber eat, the app confirmed the food was ready for pick up, then when I came in the person (a girl with eyebrows pierced wearing a cap)who was in charge of packing, moving around the counter checking on the orders was so rude. There were too many people working on that small kitchen, it made the atmosphere so congested. The way they made the food was unorganized and very unhygienic. That girl packed the bagels for customers asking them if they need paper bags, some customers said no then she just threw over the counter for them pick up (like throw to animals). The customer service behaviors is so unprofessional, what was the point to mark on the app food is ready and let customers waiting extra 20min? Moreover she showed such a bad attitude and rolled her eyes to say I’m working on it. The store charged high price for the products but they don’t have a selective employees to maintain the quality of food. Totally not worth the money...
