260 Sample Sale, NoMad — Local services in New York

When it comes to the sample sales the workers lack organization, operational management along with customer service skills. They want the look of being exclusive, but in reality over complicate the process for customers and are extremely rude. Instead of simplifying the process and having instructions on the website prior to the event or even having workers make announcements periodically to the customers in the store and those waiting in line. They decided to wait until people reach the front of the line to relay information that is contradictory to what other workers previously said causing mass confusion. This further causes delays and dissatisfaction overall which is unfortunate because it’s completely avoidable. I understand it’s nyc, but from an operational perspective this is a certified hot mess, a liability if you will, with workers on a power trip, potential customers passing out from heat exhaustion, people standing on the street, it’s a lawsuit of some sort waiting to happen. Furthermore the black man in tight white t-shirt who said he’s been doing this for 15 years is incompetent as he never answers questions and antagonizes several people in line. Shopping sample sales is like the wild wild west, but I had an incredible shopping experience at 260 Sample Sale and am so so grateful to the hardworking staff! Long story short I went to the Alice and Olivia sample sale and there were a ton of crazy customers - someone almost got pushed down the stairs! Amongst all the drama from the shoppers, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. I am most grateful for Arlyn - listening to my frustration, genuinely taking in my concerns, and then her compassion and kindness in helping me find what I was looking for amidst the insane crowd. Truly the best customer service experience and shopping ever! There were also two other lovely employees who also helped me, Sabrina and (I feel awful I can't remember the others name) but thank you! On the whole, the entire staff was kind, helpful, and positive despite some of the behavior of customers around them. I will definitely be returning to 260 Sample Sale not only for the designers and deals but because the staff are so lovely and make the experience fabulous!...

Rude short black girl with long tresses. I tried a few dresses behind the mirror coz I’m modest and I don’t want the world to see my underwear, no one said anything. I had one dress left that I was going to try, she comes to me and she is like you have to be on the floor, well I was on the floor it’s just behind the mirror. I told her I have only one dress left to try and I’m not wearing a bra she goes like well remember where you were coming, you should have worn a bra. In a demeaning way. I told her I was just gonna leave then, then she says next time wear a bra lol I was like there will be no next time. I wasn’t planning to stop there anyway, but bottom line selection is horrible, great if you are a size 0 or 24 but other than that not much to see, NO AC and prices are comparable to what you find on sale online.
