I discovered Blue Seafood Bar by googling "best seafood places to take parents for dinner in New York City," and it did not disappoint. The charm and rustic ambiance captivated us as soon as we walked in. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by our server, Fernanda, who set the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
The menu offers something for everyone, but we were particularly drawn to the seafood tower, knowing it would delight my mother. I indulged in the lobster eggs Benedict, and we shared a side of grilled vegetables that were cooked to perfection. The starter bread, served with flaky salt, oil, balsamic, and an exquisite anchovy-based dip, tasted like it was baked fresh by someone's grandma in the back.
The clientele seemed like regulars, fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Fresh clams and oysters on ice greet you at the entrance, assuring the freshness of the seafood. The seafood tower was the highlight, with an array of dipping options including vinegar, cocktail sauce, Tabasco, lemon, and an unforgettable lemon aioli. This aioli paired perfectly with the chilled seafood and the potatoes that came with my lobster Benedict. The eggs were cooked to perfection—perfectly runny inside but fully cooked whites, a rare feat for many restaurants.
The open kitchen allowed us to watch our food being prepared, adding to the overall vibe. Plus-size friendly, the seating was comfortable with adjustable chairs and a cozy booth in the back where we sat. The molten lava cake for dessert was a must-try, brought out piping hot with fresh berries. They sang happy birthday to my mom in a delightful yet unobtrusive manner.
Our fantastic experience was largely thanks to Fernanda (pictured in the review) and the other staff members. If I could give Fernanda a 10 out of 5, I would! I highly recommend Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery —5...
Read moreI recently hit up Blue Seafood and Bar for brunch, and let me tell you, this spot is a breath of fresh air in NYC's brunch scene of "throw an egg on top of everything".
The nautical-themed decor with its cool blue tones and marine art gives off a chill, elegant feel.
The service was good: friendly, knowledgeable staff who are there when you need them but don’t hover. It makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
They kick things off with this amazing caponata and crusty bread. It's a sweet, sour, and savory eggplant relish that had me hooked from the first bite. Such a great way to start the meal.
I started with the Kumamoto oysters, and wow, they were fresh and briny with just the right touch of sweetness. The mignonette sauce added a nice zing, making them an absolute treat.
The seafood salad came next, and it was a colorful, fresh mix of shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a light, citrusy dressing. Super refreshing and tasty—definitely not your average brunch salad.
For the main event, I went with the classic 2 eggs, which came with a side of mixed greens and roasted potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the salad was crisp and lightly dressed, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Simple, but done right.
What I loved most about Blue Seafood and Bar is that they don’t stick to the usual brunch clichés. Their menu has real variety and quality, which makes it stand out from the crowd. You can even order from their regular menu.
So, if you're looking for a brunch spot that’s a cut above the rest, with great food and a cool vibe, you’ve got to check out Blue Seafood and Bar. It’s definitely...

★★★★★★★★★★ Absolutely Outstanding!
What an incredible dining experience at Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special.
The branzino was cooked to absolute perfection - flaky, tender, and seasoned beautifully. You can tell they really know their way around fresh seafood here. The last time we had Branzino was at Wolfgang Pucks restaurant and Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery blow his recipe out of the water!
The lobster topped burrata salad was equally impressive, sweet and succulent with that perfect ocean flavor that only comes from the highest quality ingredients. creamy, fresh burrata paired with perfectly balanced accompaniments that made each bite a little piece of heaven. And don't even get me started on the pear diver martini - it was expertly crafted with just the right balance of flavors, refreshing and sophisticated.
But what really made the evening was the service. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and clearly passionate about providing an exceptional experience. The entire staff seemed to work in perfect harmony.
Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery has absolutely earned a permanent spot on our New York City must-visit list. This is what dining out should be - exceptional food, expertly prepared by top notch chefs, served by people who truly care about their craft. We'll definitely be back!
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier seafood experience. This place is a true...
