I really love this spot. I’m sitting there now. It’s my second time here, and I have a feeling I’ll be a regular.
Last time I was here, it was a weekday. Pretty dead, no one was in a rush. I tried their tortilla soup and iced cafe de olla and both were so, so good. A lot of people were posted up with their laptops which is great to know.
Today, on a Saturday, it was bustling. I came right before 12, so everyone was here for lunch. I grabbed a small table, by the back door, facing the kitchen.
I could see everyone working hard, and incredibly efficiently, and every single person was friendly.
It took a while to place my order and get food, but to be fair I just snagged a table. I wasn’t sure what the etiquette here on a busy day is.
I ordered an iced chocolate, and the tortilla soup. The soup was so good, and incredibly well balanced. Even the chocolate was crazy good - I got oat milk.
I’ll be swinging by again during the week to enjoy the more relaxed atmosphere I experienced last time I was here.
Great place to bring a small group of friends, or a for a cute date. The back patio is particularly charming.
Thank you, Jessica, for...
Read moreThis is my second time visiting this cafe and I think I may be addicted to their quesadillas! The Chef who is originally from Iztapalapa Mexico makes the quesadillas with handmade tortillas, chicken Tinga, Oaxacan cheese, fresh avocado, and serves with a side of sour cream, green salsa and chilly oil. As soon as I bit into this quesadilla, I got a complimentary flashback to having quesadillas in Mexico City!
The food in this cafe is delicious, authentic, and makes you feel like you are eating a home made meal. The menu is small but carries all the quintessential dishes of Mexico City - Chilaquiles, Quesadillas, Tacos, Huevos Rancheros, and a few other vegan friendly options.
Also, this cafe is BYOB as they do not serve alcoholic drinks. I did not try any of their coffee drinks so I cannot comment on the quality.
As for ambiance, the cafe is just the perfect size, plays good music, and feels very cozy. This appears to be a family-owned business and everybody who works is very nice. Remember to support your...

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with traditional décor such as talavera tiles, rustic wooden furniture, traditional lamps and pictures that reflect Mexico’s rich history and folklore.
Mexico City style dishes made from fresh, high-quality ingredients, with recipes passed down through generations. Staples like handmade corn tortillas, slow-cooked meats (like barbacoa, carnitas, and birria), and rich sauces such as mole and salsa verde are central to the experience. Dishes are often served with sides like rice, beans, fresh salsas, and guacamole. Drinks might include traditional aguas frescas, horchata, tamarindo, or Mexican sodas, alongside tequila and mezcal-based cocktails.
