We went yesterday, on one the hottest day, for the very 1st time to celebrate my son's graduation around 1pm. We were seated with complimentary water bottles (though bottles were room temp- warm, still appreciate the gesture) Restaurant was bit hot we requested them to bring down the temperature which they did as it was extremely hot, it didnt help much, we requested them again to turn on adjacent seating AC unit which they did and finally it was comfortable to dine in.

We loved the interior. Really enjoyed reading all the customer's notes they have on display on the wall.

We ordered:

lahori burger 8/10 Jani burger 7/10 808 9/10 Nihari sandwich 9/10 Sweet potato fries 10/10 Masala fries 10/10 Limeade 7/10 Mango jani 7/10

All burgers were relatively smaller as compared to what you usually get from anywhere else, but the patty was really thick, making it a tall burger. We liked 808 the most. All burgers had distinct flavor. Jani burger had green anardana chutney,it was bit spicy for us. Burgers are bit on expensive side but Good overall. Both fries were so fresh and crispy.

Nihari sandwich was good. Nihari was very well cooked with perfect spice level.

Both drinks were more on spicy side, wish it had more sweet hint to it. We also asked for ice a couple of times, which they very kindly provided right away.

We ordered Lamb biryani, which they didn't have. The attendant politely informed us and gave us a refund for the difference. As we placed our order through the app. We also ordered fries with every burger. They had a promotion going on for free fries with each burger, which we came to know after placing an order. We didn't mention it to the attendant at all. The attendant refunded us that after serving us food. She came back towards the end of our meal with 3rd refund receipt, saying as we wanted lamb biryani and it was out the nihari sandwich, which we ordered as replacement is on house. As many wrote on their wall.. dil jeet lia jani!!! They really didn't need to do that, but they went out of the way and generously served us with outstanding hospitality. It was our 1st time, but it was definitely not the last one. I would have given them overall 4 stars, but they definitely earned the 5-star review with outstanding customer service.

We loved the background music. Very rarely pakistani restaurants play pakistani music. They had Junaid Jamshed music on which brought back so many memories from 90s and gave us full pakistani vibes.

The Washroom was clean, too.

Thank you, BK Jani, for taking good care of us, we were their to celebrate my son's graduation, and he wanted to have biryani by treating him with a complimentary sandwich you made him feel extra special.

Request: halal sign is not visible. Please put halal sign/certificate in more...

OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! What an unexpected surprise

Visiting friends (like family) in NY for Thanksgiving and they suggested BK Jani. It was a long drive and I almost said no, but so glad that we made the drive from Westchester to Brooklyn.

From the outside it is an assuming place. You step inside and it is bright, cheerful and cozy. The walls are adorned with bright murals, the ceiling is strung with fairy lights, and there is a collage of customer reviews on one of the walls (I wish I had left a comment there). I guess I will have to go back. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table.

So to start of I want to say that I am not a meat lover (the reason for my initial hesitation), but now I know that I am not a lover of mediocre meat that is found at the majority of the restaurants. I love the meat served at BK Jani. Here is what we had..

Grilled corn (chili) - I have great memories of it from road side vendors in Lahore and Murree. Perfectly grilled and rubbed with lemon/chili Lamb chops with a mint/cilantro chimichurri sauce. The amazing thing was that there was no smell of lamb. Beef Tikka - Grilled cubes of filet mignon with their own spice rub (the recipe is sure to be a safely guarded secret) 808 burger - Mouthwatering ground beef patty, with sautéed Jalapeño The Jani Burger - I assume where it all started as it is the namesake of the restaurant. Ground beef patty, perfectly cooked with mint chutney. Sweet Potato Fries Limeade - An ode to the Pakistani Sikanjabeen Mango Jan- Mango Juice with a hint of spices

I can not believe I ate all this meat in one sitting. I walked out full, content and happy. Sad only coz I know what I will not get when get back to SF. I need to plan my next NY trip soon.

For all New Yorkers.. don’t miss on this opportunity to try this amazing place. You will...

Had an absolute terrible experience at this place. First, I would like to say their burgers are great. However, when it comes to customer service, communication and hospitality, the staff AND THE OWNER lack tremendously. My group and I joined their steak night event. We booked our tickets for a party of two about two weeks prior to the event. We chose the 7pm-9pm slot. Everything was paid for in advance, along with tip. My entire party arrived at 6:50pm and because the restaurant was filled with people, majority of us waited by the door indoors. My husband and my brother went to the front to let the staff know we have arrived and they took both of their names. We grabbed a table because it was self seating. Every group that came after us got their food while we were still waiting. When we went to ask them about the food they didn’t even put the order in! No apologies, they just said “I thought your party wasn’t here yet”. It was super frustrating to the point we wanted to leave. That’s when the owner finally came out asking what’s the issue. When we told him he goes give me another 15 mins, straight face, no apology about wait time or the mistake his staff made by not putting in the order or communicating properly. Absolute horrible attitude, if the owner is like that then obviously can’t expect anything better from the staff to give good service. We finally got our food AFTER AN HOUR. As we were eating, the owner was going around to each table asking how the food is and COMPLETELY avoiding our table at all costs. The place is tiny so there’s no way you could just “miss” a party of 5 unless you’re DELIBERATELY AVOIDING THEM. Good luck bk...

Brand new location, same great food! BK Jani outdoes itself every time I take a bite/sip of their delicious offerings because it never disappoints. Their delicious patties, a special halal blend of the famous Pat La Frieda, is enhanced by their special spicy green chutney, so be careful of the spice levels you can handle. The lamb chops are a different epic altogether that I make sure I devour till the bone is bare. The "Masala Fries brings back a lot of memories of growing up in Pakistan when the solution to all issues with blandness was "Chaat Masala". In drinks, DO NOT skip over the "Limeade" and the "Mango Jani" which (with its use of Black Salt?) brings out the true experience of a street-side vendor refreshment in the sweltering summers. At a previous visit I also happened to make a skeptical adventure upon the "Nihari Sandwich" and much to my surprise if there was a way to do it right, they did it perfectly! Beyond the food, their new Grand Street location has the perfect vibe and decor for the comfortable and casual "hanging-out" over bench-style seating next to vibrant wall art. What is more, I got to get a sneak-peak of their soon-to-open back yard space which I can just imagine will take lounging over food to the next level, Pakistani style!
