Charlie's Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in New York

Edit 1 year later: yesterday I overheard some old lady at the bar talk about how good Charlie’s is so I decided to give it another whirl and it was great, bread wasn’t as tough as the last 2 times. Wish there was more gravy on the roast beef but whatever it was still great

I just can’t give it more than a 3. I’ve had this place twice… the first time a few years ago and it was just eh, the second time, same.

Why? The bread is TOO HARD. They’d sell double the sandwiches if the bread wasn’t as hard. The only reason I gave a 3 was s because their sandwich selection looks really good. Just not good enough to spend money on to try them all since I know the bread...

I was there the day this place opened. Best fresh Mozzarella in Brooklyn, when ever I am headed to a big family meal I always stop into to pick up a fresh ball of Mozzarella to take with me. This isn't fast food, so be patient. This family run gem is what Brooklyn is about. Experience the real Brooklyn, No hipsters here. If you are hungry one of Charlie's sandwich's will fill you to capacity. Plan for a nap or a double shot of espresso when you are done. If your not hungry considering splitting a sandwich with some one. My favorite is the Shrimp Parm or a Hero with Soprasatta...

We had Charlie's cater our Daughter's first birthday party for 60 people and they knocked it out the park. We had 3 different 3 foot sandwiches, chicken franchise, penne vodka, shrimp oreganta , chicken with chilli peppers, potatoe croquettes, rice balls along with a few other dishes and when i tell you it reminded me of when my grandfather's cooking true authentic old-school family cooking. The service was white glove treatment. Charlie's sandwich shop hands down should be a restaurant, there food is phenomenal! Thank you again...
